Extend a welcome to the new faces at WoW Insider

Join me in extending a hearty welcome to our new writers at WoW Insider. This past December we placed a call out for people to join our team, and the response was gigantic. The competition was tough (think Kael'thas tough, back in the day), and these fine folks came out on top.

Joining the team is:

  • Elizabeth Harper (@faience) -- Rejoining our team is Liz Harper, who for many years ran WoW Insider as the Editor-in-Chief. Liz helped shape WoW Insider into what it is today, and we're thrilled to have her back contributing to the site. We're like the Borg, you'll always be part of the collective. Resistance is futile.

  • Kristin Marshall (@kristin) -- An excellent writer and a long time WoW player (she started back in December 2004), Kristin brings to the table the kind of informative yet fun blogging WoW Insider is known for. Stay tuned for Kristin's first post later today!

  • Sarah Pine (@ilaniel) -- Sarah (who also goes by Sally) is a great fiction writer and Warcraft player. You can read her blog over at Flavor Text. She won the 2009 Blizzard Global Creative Writing Contest; you might recognize some of her work with Blizzard, where she wrote Garrosh Hellscream: Heart of War, Lor'themar Theron: In the Shadow of the Sun, and Quest for Pandaria.

On behalf of everyone here at WoW Insider, I want to thank all those who applied. We've never had such a difficult time deciding amongst applicants, and seeing that more people than ever want to write with us made everyone feel all warm and fuzzy.

Congrats and welcome to our new writers! May the comments on your first article be lolcat ones.
