Report: Pikachu 3DS XL to go for $160 at Target, regular 3DS $130

Target may drain a critical $40 from the Pikachu 3DS XL's suggested retail price to sell the electric yellow portable at a reduced $159.99. That's according to this ad for Target's March 24-30 deals, as posted by regular deals contributor bainbridge's stache on the Blu-ray forum. The ad says the $159.99 price applies to the blue, red, and pink 3DS XLs as well.

Yesterday, Nintendo announced a North American arrival for the Pikachu 3DS XL on March 24 at $199.99, but if this is accurate then interested dealmongers should aim squarely towards Target next weekend, and not just for the 3DS XL. If you'd much prefer a regular portion, the original 3DS is also listed for a chunky price cut, going down to just $129.99.

If you've been holding out on the 3DS bandwagon, then next week - which delivers the likes of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity - looks set to be a great time to get on board, not just because of this apparent deal, but because of Nintendo's enticing freebie offer.

Register a 3DS XL with one of the new Mystery Dungeon or Luigi's Mansion games before April 30, and you'll receive a gift download code for another 3DS game - neat, huh? The available gifts are Super Mario 3D Land, Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, Star Fox 64 3D, Freakyforms Deluxe: Your Creations, Alive, and Art Academy: Lessons for Everyone!
