WRUP: Here, just have some kittens edition

My cat isn't an Abyssinian, but that's because I go for rescues. Those aren't sorted by breed.

This week is not a week for my usual random nonsense. Instead, I'm just going to give you this photo of Abyssinian kittens thanks to the wonder of Wikimedia Commons. Why Abyssinian? Because they're particularly lovely cats. Just enjoy that for a moment you don't have to worry about all of the other insanity that's going on and you can just picture some gorgeous little bundles of mewling fur in your mind.

No punchline this week. Just have some kittens.

Of course, you might consider WRUP a punchline in and of itself, but that is also here, complete with the Massively staff's plans for the weekend. Like every week, you can feel free to let us know your weekend plans down in the comments, even if they don't include cuddling kittens. But kittens would be nice for everyone, I think. (My cat sits on my desk as I work and purrs at me; I would know.)

Beau Hindman, F2P and Mobile Columnist

@Beau_Hindman: I'll be jumping into several games, but am really looking forward to rolling in my new 40-ton 'Mech in MechWarrior Online. She's fast but not totally deadly, and she can get in and out of danger pretty easily. Four medium lasers do some damage, but I love the top speed of 132 kph! I'll also be checking out new stuff in Villagers and Heroes and will be looking at this new mobile game that is sort of like EVE Online meets Dark Orbit... and it all fits in your pocket! I need to get Defiance as well and will be hopefully seeing some of the Guild Wars 2 weekend.

Bree Royce, Editor-in-Chief

@nbrianna: I'm hoping to do a bit of bauble farming in Guild Wars 2, and then I want to try out Villagers and Heroes of a Mystical Land, a cutesy little sandbox with a title so long that I have to keep looking it up every time I want to type it.

David Desi, Multimedia Contributor

@PsykopigAU: I'm killing some Defiance this weekend. After watching the show, I am all rejuvenated and ready to take down some Hellbugs and make sure the Battle of Defiance was not fought in vain!

Eliot Lefebvre, Columnist Extraordinaire and Senior Contributing Editor

@Eliot_Lefebvre: I have so many projects running in Star Wars: The Old Republic right now that I'm almost glad to have nothing else on my plate. Despite that, I've also got an urge to pick up some of the single player games that have languished for a bit; my Steam library is itching.

Elisabeth Cardy, Guild Wars 2 Columnist and Contributing Editor

@elixabethclaire: I'm going to be earning the Distinction in Applied Jumping title in Guild Wars 2. At least, I hope that's what I'm going to be doing. I might be falling repeatedly into dark and painful holes in the Super Adventure Box.

I'll also be leveling Glyph of Nostalgia up a bit in Guild Wars so as not to fall behind the storyline.

Jasmine Hruschak, Multimedia Contributor

@irljasmine: Most of my weekend will involve playing Stay Awake on the I-5, where I'll be using a massive amount of caffeine to defeat the file boss: Los Angeles traffic. On Sunday I'll celebrate my triumphant victory by playing Guild Wars 2 and World of Warcraft on Massively's live stream. Because when you haven't had access to your favorite MMOs for three weeks, it's a good idea to load them up for the first time live in front of the internet. Nothing could possibly go wrong.

Jef Reahard, Managing Editor and Columnist Extraordinaire

@jefreahard: I'm playing the hell out of Darkfall Unholy Wars, even moreso now that launch week impressions are wrapped and I can stop tabbing out of the game to take notes. I'm still goofing around on my SWTOR Smuggler, too, and I'm dabbling in DC Universe Online again (thanks Man of Steel trailer three).

Justin Olivetti, Columnist Extraordinaire and Senior Contributing Editor

@Sypster: I've been enjoying my lowbie Mesmer in Guild Wars 2 -- beware my pink butterflies! -- but I think I might splurge on a night or two of The Secret World and nothing but. I still have two zones and the main storyline to wrap up, and I'd like to be caught up before Tokyo is released (whenever that is).

Larry Everett, SWTOR Columnist

@Shaddoe: I don't post a lot of these because it's kind of boring to write "I'm play SWTOR again" each week, but this weekend is a bit different. Although I'm still playing my favorite Star Wars MMORPG, I have started my free-to-play experiment. My Smuggler, Drewe, has made it off Ord Mantell, and this weekend, I will attempt to make it past Coruscant and on his ship. I will record my adventures in this Tuesday's Hyperspace Beacon.

Matt Daniel, Contributing Editor

@mvmatt: I picked up a copy of Darkfall Unholy Wars, and while I'm not terribly impressed yet (come on guys, cutting off my sprint when I strafe? Annoying!), I've been itching for a sandbox so maybe it'll hook me. Other than that, maybe I'll spend some time trying to comprehend Age of Wushu's god-awful localization because, again, sandbox. We'll see how that goes.

Richie Procopio, Multimedia Contributor

@RichieProcopio: Besides some Minecraft with the kids tonight, I won't be playing video games this weekend. Instead, I'll be sleeping in a zoo with my family and I'm not even kidding.

Terilynn Shull, Star Trek Online Columnist

@terilynns: I'll be knee-deep into both Star Trek Online trying to bump-up my reputation with the Romulans and Lord of the Rings Online for the anniversary festivities!

At the start of every weekend, we catch up with the Massively staff members and ask them, "What are you playing this week?" (Otherwise known as: WRUP!) Join us to see what we're up to in and out of game -- and catch us in the comments to let us know what you're playing, too!
