Ambient Studios shutters, Death Inc refunds issued
Independent developer Ambient Studios announced today that it is shutting down, and is ceasing development of its plague simulation title Death Inc.

Announcement of the closure arrives after Death Inc.'s recent success at Steam Greenlight. Ambient Studios soldiered on with Death Inc.'s development even after its initial Kickstarter project failed, and a paid alpha version was issued via Ambient's website.

"We're super proud of what we achieved, but ultimately we didn't manage to make enough money to keep the wolves from the door," the Ambient team notes in its final update. "And so we had to make the difficult decision that it is no longer feasible for Ambient to continue operating."

Ambient will issue refunds to alpha backers soon.
