WRUP: Freedom edition

Flying off into the great wide open.
As of yesterday evening, my second job is no longer an issue. I'm free to focus on working on Massively full-time. Three and a half years I've been working most of the day, but now I have time to start new writing projects here, more time to play games and engage with readers, and more time to pursue the career that I love.

Also more time to sit in a panic whilst fearing I made a horrible mistake, but I've been struggling to fit that into my schedule anyway.

Too personal for you? Then you're going to hate the rest of WRUP, because it's nothing but myself and the other Massively writers discussing our plans for the weekend. Very personal stuff. If you can stomach that, you can check our plans out past the cut, and you can let us know what you'll be up to down in the comments.

Beau Hindman, F2P and Mobile Columnist
@Beau_Hindman: I'm playing with the Puzzle Pirates iPad version when I'm not visiting my parents out of town. Luckily I am bringing the Chromebook Pixel on the road with me (for research!) and will have access to its 4G LTE capabilities! So plenty of browser-based gaming for me as well.

Bree Royce, Editor-in-Chief
@nbrianna: Guild Wars 2, of course, because I haven't opened enough dragon boxes yet to know I'll never, ever get my stupid jade weapon ticket. I also resubbed to Ultima Online for the next month or so; I'm doing some catch-up and research for a future article or two. And I'll probably also play some modded Torchlight 2. Yay mods!

David Desi, Multimedia Contributor
@PsykopigAU: I'll be rocking The Secret World with a dash of RIFT because this free-to-play stuff has my server going nuts! I'll also be playing a little Blood Bowl because I just remembered the other day how fun it was.

Eliot Lefebvre, Columnist Extraordinaire and Senior Contributing Editor
@Eliot_Lefebvre: Someone -- presumably a dark necromancer of some sort -- scheduled both Star Wars: The Old Republic's double experience weekend and Final Fantasy XIV's newest beta test for the same darn weekend. I'm going to have to try and split my time. I don't know how to do that. Maybe I'll just protest by playing The Last of Us or something.

Jasmine Hruschak, Multimedia Contributor
@irljasmine: I'm all over the FFXIV:ARR beta this weekend. I played the original release of the game, and it's finally time to sit down and see all of the changes. I'm only slightly more excited than I am skeptical. I know that no matter what I'll enjoy the graphics and the nostalgia, so full steam ahead!

Jef Reahard, Managing Editor and Columnist Extraordinaire@jefreahard: Limited gaming time for me this weekend, but I'll try for some SWTOR double XP. I've also been missing The Secret World lately, but that will likely have to wait for next weekend's WRUP.

Justin Olivetti, Columnist Extraordinaire and Senior Contributing Editor
@Sypster: I have a pretty busy weekend lined up, but time permitting, my biggest focus will be on leveling up my Mage in RIFT. I've got a power Necromancer build going on, and coming back to the game's made me fall in love with its best aspects all over again. I'll also look to level up my baby Minstrel in Lord of the Rings Online through the Shire. Gotta run some pies and mail for great justice!

Richie Procopio, Multimedia Contributor
@RichieProcopio: This weekend I'll be playing Guild Wars 2 and continuing my Dragon Bash festivities. I plan on opening another 500 dragon coffers and finally snagging one of those precious Dragon's Jade weapons, but I'll probably fail the RNG game and walk away with nothing but zhaitaffy. I also hope to finish up Tomb Raider, which I can't recommend enough. There's just something special about shooting a boar with a napalm-tipped arrow that makes me feel all warm inside.

At the start of every weekend, we catch up with the Massively staff members and ask them, "What are you playing this week?" (Otherwise known as: WRUP!) Join us to see what we're up to in and out of game -- and catch us in the comments to let us know what you're playing, too!
