The Queue: Joystiq, flex queue, connected realms, pally vs. bear, and guild achievements

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky (@adamholisky) will be your host today.

When you're reading this, I'll be on a lake on a boat.

That's just the life I live, folks.

Now I'll be right back as I go clean the cat's litter.

Ryan asked:

Which is easier as a tank, Pally or Bear? (I find Warrior can sometimes be hard to keep up threat... at least at low levels).

I think that a pally is generally easier to tank with. Originally this was a no-brainer, as paladin AoE was huge advantage in every aspect of tanking. However as the game has evolved and the classes have become more homogenized (especially the tanks), this distinction has become less important for those that really know the class.

However, if you're just talking about which is easier, I think that the pally has an easier learning curve than the bear. More over the paladin's mechanics are easier to understand for new players or players inexperienced with the mechanics of tanking -- holding a sword and board is a lot easier than "oh I'm a big bear and I dodge stuff?"

One thing to keep in mind is that even though I think paladins are easier to pick up, at the end of the day I don't think there's much disparity between the tanks, especially at end game with skilled players. There's those that will disagree with me in semantics here, but overall, yeah, it's apples to apples. Just get the paladin to start with!

Nrupholomeeeww asked:

Why are there no guild level pet battle achievements? Has Blizzard just left guild achievements in the dust after Cata?

I don't think so at all. They just don't have any guild achievements for pet battles, there's lots and lots of other ones for nearly everything else in the game. That said you do have a good idea -- one that hopefully Blizzard will take note of. And here's the achievement:

Your Own Guild Gym
Have 10 members of your guild each have 30 level 25 pets.

You're welcome, Blizzard.

Brauwler asked:

With the new server set-up setting up virtual/connected realms, is there any reason to transfer servers any more to play with friends on other servers?

Connected realms will not connect every realm, just a few each. We don't know what the realms that'll be connected are yet -- so we'll have to wait and see. Further, I would absolutely not transfer realms until you have a better idea of what's going to happen with the connected realms. There's too many unknowns right now. And that said ... if your friend is on Eldre'Thalas or wherever and you can't wait, just transfer there now.

Demon Within asked:

When we queue for flex raiding will we have the ability to que for wings or is it only from the beginning?

Flex raiding is not on a queue system. It's just like a normal raid, you'll need to find a group on your server (or virtual server) and go from there.

Smartzaz asked:

Have you guys ever thought of moving to Joystiq's site design, kinda like what Massively uses? I quite like it

Stay tuned!
