WRUP: Lake taunting edition

Laaaaaaaake. My family was sitting by you and we said mean thiiiiiings.

Hey there, lake. Yeah, I'm talking to you. Don't act like you don't hear me. You thought you were pretty big, didn't you? Thought you could push me around just because you outmass me by several orders of magnitude? Let me tell you something, lake, you're nothing. You're a place for ducks to fart around. Everybody thinks you look gross and you're full of leeches. They're going to drain you and replace you with a skate park.

Oh, are you going to cry now? Feel like crying? Just... tell me what that looks like, I don't know how a lake cries. Baby.

As you probably guessed, it's WRUP time yet again, and that means that I get to put together some random nonsense leading into the Massively staff's plans for the weekend. Check that out after the break, and let us know what you're up to down in the comments.

Anatoli Ingram, Guild Wars 2 Columnist

@ceruleangrey: I'll probably be hanging around for a bit in Guild Wars 2, although what gaming time I have this weekend is mostly going to Final Fantasy XIV. There's no way I can pass up the opportunity to add my Carbuncle to the wave of small blue squirrels that has crashed upon Eorzea. How to solve an early lack of healers in a trinity-based game? Make sure one of the potential healing classes is a new job at or near launch.

Bree Royce, Editor-in-Chief

@nbrianna: I'll be working my way through some player mods in Morrowind and hopefully checking out RuneScape's noob content -- that's if I can get my tablet all set up with vidya games again after my great Rooting To Solve The Latest Android Bluetooth Problem project.

Eliot Lefebvre, Columnist Extraordinaire and Senior Contributing Editor

@Eliot_Lefebvre: Eorzea. Final Fantasy XIV. My character. See you again on Monday, I'm busy.

Jasmine Hruschak, Multimedia Contributor

@irljasmine: This weekend I'm playing Final Fantasy XIV with a side of Final Fantasy XIV and a little dollop of Final Fantasy XIV. If I have room after all of that I'll probably try putting some time into Final Fantasy XIV.

Justin Olivetti, Columnist Extraordinaire and Senior Contributing Editor

@Sypster: Hm... I think that Guild Wars 2 might factor heavily into my weekend play. I've been reconnecting with my Ranger and tearing up the path to 3,000 achievement points, so I should probably keep that streak alive. I also recently obtained the HK-51 companion in Star Wars: The Old Republic, so I definitely want to test him out on the field.

Matt Daniel, Contributing Editor

@mvmatt: Final Fantasy XIV. All day e'ry day. That's all.

Mike Foster, Contributing Editor

@MikedotFoster: I'm heading over to my local gaming lounge for this weekend's Dota 2 open tournament (not competing, just enjoying). I'll also be running some World of Warcraft dungeons (as always) and perhaps catching up on some of the stuff I bought during the Steam Summer Sale. Mirror's Edge, I'm looking at you.

MJ Guthrie, Columnist Extraordinaire and Contributing Editor

@MJ_Guthrie: With gaming time curtailed by fun-in-the-sun type things this weekend, I will be focused on just a few little bursts of gaming. I will start by helping with and possibly advancing a bit of the epic story quests in Lord of the Rings Online. After that, I will be hitting up Kingsmouth in The Secret World again as a friend recently returned to game and has just started a new character. Oh, and I intend to find my thorn in Aion (a comment the Massively TV viewers will understand)!

Patrick Mackey, League of Legends and Age of Wushu Columnist

@mackeypb: Mostly League of Legends right now, but I'm also playing stuff I picked up in the Steam Summer Sale, like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (which I am totally awful at). I've been playing some of Age of Wushu's Huashan expansion, but not as much as LoL right now.

Richie Procopio, Multimedia Contributor

@RichieProcopio: Even though I beat Liadri last night in the Queen's Gauntlet, I will still play a fair amount of Guild Wars 2 this weekend. I have more achievements to get before the Queen's Speech game update goes live next week. I'll also be playing Cube World and attempting to gain enough levels to finally equip the custom-made pachyderm axe I crafted. Yep, it's a weapon with a trunk. How awesome is that?

Shawn Schuster, Senior Editor

@Epykbeard: I'm finishing up my time with LotRO for Choose my Adventure and helping out with an ambitious building project in Wurm Online. I'm still undecided if I'll continue with my LotRO CMA character when the series is done next week, but I'll probably pick back up with my main since I'm really enjoying the game again.

Terilynn Shull, Star Trek Online Columnist

@terilynns: I'm still recovering! The Star Trek Convention last week in Las Vegas was amazing! Star Trek Online had two panels (which will be the bases of the upcoming Captain's Log here at Massively) and they were both a blast. As far as actual gaming is concerned, my main in STO finally finished Tier 5 in the Romulan reputation system and I think I'll be concentrating on getting her a flamethrower and maybe a new set of torpedoes! Finally, I hope to finish out the last 10 levels with my Reman character and get her into that Mogai.

At the start of every weekend, we catch up with the Massively staff members and ask them, "What are you playing this week?" (Otherwise known as: WRUP!) Join us to see what we're up to in and out of game -- and catch us in the comments to let us know what you're playing, too!
