The Queue: Historical magic

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Alex Ziebart will be your host today.

Want your mind blown while you read today's Queue? Listen to the music embedded above. Hurrian Hymn no. 6 is the oldest known piece of music preserved well enough to still be played. It's 3,400 years old.

3,400 years old and you're listening to it through the power of your personal PC/phone/tablet/whatever. That's magical, ladies and gentlemen.

@BulletsVsDreams

Why do the Pandas have Mogu stuff around (statues/ painting). Isn't that a dark spot in their history? Why keep the negativity?

Why destroy history? "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." Over in the real world, maybe we don't maintain monuments to past tyrants, but we sure do keep relics of their tyranny in our museums. It's tough putting a ten-story statue in a museum.

It's also possible that they keep it around as a reminder of the fact that they overcame that foe. The mogu were capable of such grand construction and architecture, but the pandaren beat them anyway.

AlexGoeldner asked:

Do forsaken smell ? there rotting corpses, do the smell bad ?

Almost certainly. They're corpses. Even if they aren't actively rotting anymore due to magical shenanigans, they have dessicated flesh exposed to the elements on their body. That cannot possibly smell good. And Undercity? It's built in the sewers of Lordaeron. Never mind the glowy green crap the Forsaken have flooded the place with, sewers smell awful for many, many years after they've been out of use.

canis__major asked:

Last week I valor capped on my main and got The Valor of the Ancients buff. I just logged in and was surprised to see I still had the buff. Is this a glitch or intentional?

It's a glitch. The buff will (most likely) disappear when you go to a zone that requires a loading screen, such as into a dungeon or to a different continent.

I don't want to play as a giant viking..

I sure do!

@ArcaneTactics asked:

When will the results of the Mage and Hunter columnist applications be announced?

Soon, but not soon-soon. Don't expect it this week. Probably not next week, either. We need time to not only read every single application, but time to reach out to the people we've chosen and talk with them a bit. Then there's the contracting process and blah, blah, blah. It takes a little time.

@PackOfHighly asked:

Who dares summon me?

A-HA! I've done it! Behold the absolute power of Alex Ziebart, master summoner! You are bound to me, demon!

@AngryOrc1 asked:

I WANT TO READ ABOUT VENGEANCE. IN THIS PATCH OR THE NEXT.

Um.

Next question.

@AlternativeChat asked:

What one Classic Dungeon would you like to see updated first to be eligible for Flex Raiding?

Since we're talking Flex, I assume you're talking classic raids, unless I've missed something. If I'm right about that, I've always had a love/hate relationship with Blackwing Lair. Some parts of that raid hold some of my favorite raiding memories, but other parts embodied the absolute worst of vanilla raiding. If Vaelestraz could be recreated for the current game, that would be awesome. If they could do it while removing the Suppression Room, the uninspired drake clones, and the dispel-mashing of Chrommagus, that would be even more awesome.

A tighter, more streamlined Molten Core could be way fun, too.

I hope I didn't totally misunderstand your question.
