WRUP: Bonusception
There's so much happening right now that it can be hard to pick out one or two things as the most important. Do we talk about a certain digital collectible card game, and upcoming patch, or the inevitable balancing that always happens? This week, when we asked your intrepid WoW Insider staff what they're playing this weekend, we went one level deeper. We asked them to ask -- and answer -- their own bonus question. It's a downright bonusception. Bwoooooooommmmmm.
Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) I'm going to try and find some time to fiddle around with Hearthstone, but more likely going to be painting and working on various projects this weekend instead - this is how it generally goes! Chase Hasbrouck (@alarondruid, @alaronmonk) I spent some time playing through the latest crop of indie games (Dust: An Elysian Tail, Gunpoint, and Rogue Legacy), and am now getting back into WoW to get ready for the next patch. My plan was to spend this weekend digging Tol'Vir artifacts to nab the Vial of the Sands recipe, but I managed to grab one last night after only 20 solves (yay RNG), so need to find something else to do. I'll probably start leveling some more pets to prepare for the Celestial Tounament. (As an aside, I LOVE how the new Battle.net launcher streamlines the process of logging into WoW, and I'm also enjoying using oQueue to help find groups.) I'm done with Hearthstone for now - it's a great game, but knowing that a wipe is coming makes me less inclined to play.
Bonus: If you could make a crossover game from any two of Activision Blizzard's properties, what would it be? Answer: Skylanders: World of Warcraft. /win.
Dan Desmond (@Antigen_) I'll likely try to fumble my way to diamond in Hearthstone ranked matches. I've been sitting at three-star platinum for what seems like ages, winning as often as I'm losing and never making any progress. Maybe I'll have to reexamine my deck.
Bonus question: What one ability in all of WoW would you eradicate and erase all trace of forever? Stealth, unquestionably.
Daniel Whitcomb (@danielwhitcomb) Going to be taking over more of Virtual Steelport on Saint's Row IV with my Homies, Kinzie, Matt, and (SPOILER). I may also play a bit more Hearthstone, though the class dailies have turned me off to that a little bit, won't lie.
As far as bonus question goes, My non-combat class would be Noodle Cart Owner, and my spec would be Ramen.
Elizabeth Wachowski (@leeatwaterlives) I've been having fun with Dragonborn and hope to start some of the fan-made Skyrim expansions soon. I'm getting a little hankering for Borderlands 2 and Hearthstone as well.
Bonus question: Who sucks? Answer: drunk Duke students suck.
Matt "Matticus" Low (@matticus) Grrr, beating my head against the wall in Hearthstone. It's so hard to win games now. Every time I feel that I move up, I fall flat on my butt. Half the decks I'm playing against appear to be rogues. Arrrghhh, nerf rogues! But it's a long weekend, so maybe I'll take a quick break away from the digital stuff (probably not).
Matthew Rossi (@MatthewWRossi) I've been digging out the old Xbox games since the Xbox One won't have backwards compatibility. So far I've played Fable, KOTOR, KOTOR 2, Jade Empire and am considering what my next game will be. Also, been kind of sick, so there's that.
Bonus Question: Should we get rid of all three role hybrids and make them heal/DPS or tank/DPS only? Yes we should.
Matt Walsh (@Rhidach) I've recently become obsessed with SimCity 4 again, so if I have any free time with all the end-of-summer festivities this weekend, I'll be hunched over a keyboard and lovingly zoning out some neighborhoods. I'll also be squeezing in some Hearthstone and I have my usual, scheduled challenge modes on Sunday.
Bonus question: I assume mages smell like freshly baked cinnamon buns.
Olivia Grace (@oliviadgrace) I think I will be playing some WoW, my undergeared PvP toons are in dire need of 4k honor to fill in the gaps come 5.4, so I'd like to get that done. Some arenas, if my teammates and I can find time to do any, it's a busy weekend all round. And I have this real hankering to play some Sim City. I don't know why, really, it's just a thing that's been on my mind. Possibly a bit of Hearthstone? Not sure. I'm still not completely sold on it.
Robin Torres (@cosmiclaurel) I'll be playing some WoW (mostly pet battles) and some Hearthstone. Bonus: Nutella? Yes, Nutella.
Sarah Pine (@ilaniel) I am playing WoW, Hearthstone, and "hammer out the last minute details about my travel plans" because I am going to a wedding next week. As for a bonus, uh, well it's not really a question but I'm slowly ordering bits of computer parts to do some major upgrades to mine and I'm really excited about that. Sleek, updated gaming machine, you will be mine!
More bonus: I have an addendum to my WRUP: it's that Olivia generously donated me her extra copy of Worms: Revolution and I will also be gleefully dropping nukes on hapless invertebrates all weekend, as well. Hee!
