The Queue: Return of Nostradamus

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Alex Ziebart will be your host today.

At the end of today's Queue, I utilize ancient, trusted methods to tell the future. For now, we talk about hair.

Laffable asked:

In real life, I sport a nice thick beard. Unfortunately, my troll does not possess this ability. So I ask you, Queue Master, why can my troll no have beard?

You have one! Sort of. Canonically, trolls are all covered in a thin layer of fur. It just isn't rendered on character models, because you aren't tauren or worgen hairy, just a bit ... fuzzy.

Warog asked:

I recently started playing WoW again after a 2+year break and MoP has been a ton of fun (aside from the rep grinds)! Last night I started pvping with some old friends and in the heat of battle realized that my Scare Beast (I main a Hunter) doesn't work against pandas and werewolves... I thought about opening a ticket but you know how long those things take... Anyway, is this working as intended or have I stumbled upon a massive oversight on blizz's part?

Worgen, pandaren, tauren, et cetera are not beasts. They're humanoids. If playable races were all treated differently, it would be an enormous balance issue. Back in World of Warcraft's beta, the Forsaken were considered undead, not humanoid, and it was pretty terrible. Priests and paladins turned Forsaken players into punching bags.

Hyde_v asked:

Wrathion claims to be "the last black dragon." If that is true, what happened to Nalice, the female black dragon at the top of Wyrmrest Temple?

In the rogue quest chain for the legendary daggers, players killed off most of the known remaining black dragons at Wrathion's behest. In those quests, the rogues played his hired assassins. Nalice got the axe. The only black dragon we know to still be alive is Sabellian and he isn't on Azeroth at all, as far as we're aware. He was last seen in Outland.

Zheo asked:

what do you think the first raid tier will be composed of? Not the big bad, but the lesser evil we crush soon as we ding 100

I imagine raiding will be littered with orcs and it might only diversify towards the end, when the Real Evil shows its face. Considering the expansion is called Warlords of Draenor and we know most of those guys aren't very nice, we're going to spend a lot of time punching them in the face. Gul'dan, Doomhammer, and so on are all worthy of raiding encounters, I think. Mix in their enslaved gronn siege weapons and old Draenor's intelligent ogres where applicable.

@jon_greenee asked:

With the recent news of Season 14 ending soon, do we have a better idea as to when patch 5.4.7 will be live?

It's possible patch 5.4.7 will be live the day the season ends. These things usually happen together. If not on the same day, then only a span of a week or two between them, the patch coming after the end of the season.

@EctoMaster asked:

Getting new character models, thoughts on giving players multiple voice options for their characters? default + 2?

I don't think our characters talk enough to make that worthwhile. There aren't many voice emotes and, while I might be wrong, I'd guess they already don't see much use. I like being able to choose my voice in a game like Saint's Row, but World of Warcraft isn't that kind of game. Would it be cool? Sure. Do I think it'll happen? Nah.

@RichardkurnieJ asked:

interesting that celestalon said lvl 100 talents have changed or been removed since blizzcon. how far along you think we are?

I don't think that's indicative of anything, honestly. In previous expansions, spells and talents were often changing right up until the expansion's release. Death knights in particular received enormous changes all throughout the Wrath of the Lich King beta, including having full spells removed/fundamentally changed right before launch.

@stevepseudo asked:

Any news on when WoD pre-orders will become available?
