The Queue: Shoot the moon

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Alex Ziebart will be your host today.

I think it's worth trying to answer this first question once in awhile.

@Chaosork asked:

Do you know when the WoD beta will come out?

If I knew that, life wouldn't be nearly so stressful. If you subscribe to the theory that Blizzard always aims to release something big to go up against their competitors' releases, Wildstar officially releases tomorrow. Hold onto your butts.

Amber1 asked:

As a die hard Alliance member, I've always wondered this while riding the Deeprun Tram. Is there a way to get to the outside of the underwater tunnel or is it inaccessible? I'm kinda leaning towards inaccessible seeing how it's instanced when you enter or exit the tram.

It's inaccessible. I recall a time, many years ago, where players were glitching/exploiting their way inside, but I'm pretty sure you can't do it anymore. Or if you can, you shouldn't, because you're not supposed to.

Neuromante asked:

I may be wrong, but in Hearthstone it looks as if you get a season card back once, you get them all from then onwards. I mean, you get the card back just by reaching lvl 20 in that season, but also by reaching lvl 20 you start at level 20 already next season, so there's no way to go bellow lvl 20 once you reach it.

I don't know what happens if you stop playing ranked altoghether for two months or more in a row, maybe that way you fall back to lvl 25?

It doesn't quite work the way you think, but you're onto something with that last part. At the beginning of a new season, you're rewarded with bonus stars based on your performance in the previous season. If you did well, you might start above rank 20. If you didn't do so well, you might start below it. Even if you ranked 1 this season, your ranking would eventually degrade in subsequent seasons and bottom out completely if you stop playing.

More, even if you are placed above rank 20 based on a prior season's performance, you need to participate in a season to qualify for the card back. You need to play at least one game. You can't set it, forget it, and earn 2-3 months worth of card back based on one good season. It will set you in a good starting position, however, and playing just one game to qualify is pretty simple.

HemttTanker asked:

Can you assign one of your remaining writers to do a new season of, "Two Bosses Enter, One Boss Leaves"?

This question comes up a lot and it always amuses me. Because while it's historically one of our most requested features, it is also, historically, a total viewership failure. If I may be a little crass for a moment, if we made a feature based around publishing our farts, it would get more readers. An entirely blank post with no text or pictures would probably perform better. That's been the case for its every run, under every author that has attempted it and every expansion in which we've run it.

It's probably not going to come back.

HemttTanker also asked:

In Malfurien still considered to be a night elf?

Unfortunately, yes. He's a mutant gasbag of a night elf, but still a night elf.
