The Queue: Kitty cat power hour

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Alex Ziebart will be your host today.

I tried to think of a clever intro for today's edition of The Queue, but I slept very little this weekend due to a sick cat. He has medication and should be just fine now, but ... wait, we're supposed to be talking about WoW.

DerekNorman asked:

I derped and accidentally let a cross-realm mail get deleted that contained a full set of leather heirloom gear for my alt. What are the chances that I could get it back if I open a ticket?

I can't say with absolute confidence that they can restore those items for you -- I don't work in Blizzard's customer support -- but I'd say it's worth a shot. They should have a record of where those items went and it was a genuine error. You didn't try to scheme your way into extra items or anything.

Jalamenos asked:

I'm curious, why name this segment the Queue? I'm sure I could find the answer by scrolling back in previous queues but that list is too long :P

The name of The Queue has lost relevance over the years but it's far too late to change it. The Queue was initially an evolution of Ask a Beta Tester, and when AABT was running, we had a lot of people who would comment saying they used the comments section on that post as something to do while waiting in the queue to get on their server. Queues were a plague at the time -- pretty much everyone, on every realm, had to wait in a queue thousands of players deep to get on their server every night. When we took Ask a Beta Tester general interest, we played on the pun -- a Q&A feature to read while you're waiting in the queue.

Servers don't often get queues anymore, so ... maybe it can refer to dungeon queues. Or you're queueing up to get your question answered? Who knows!

gazaa07 asked:

Horde or Alliance?

I use a time machine on a regular basis to sign up with the Argent Dawn before Tirion Fordring got involved and made it stupid.

@PrinceMirage asked:

What sort of battle pets do you hope to see in WoD?

I want in-game plush versions of faction leaders. Varian and Jaina dolls, you know? The Azerothian equivalent of pro wrestler action figures except these ones are cute and can actually fight. Blame gnomes.
