One Shots: Hello, autumn
House Stark once told me that "pumpkin spice is coming," and lo and behold, it is here. Autumn is in full swing, at least in the northern hemisphere, and with it come colorful leaves, scary decorations, and trips to the apple orchard.
Today we have several great fall-themed pictures from players to share, starting with this seasonal shot from reader Becca. "Here my character Tendryl in RIFT gets in the spooky spirit. Falling orange leaves, a storm on the horizon, creepy mask... oh, and a FREAKING SCYTHE! I think she nailed it," she writes.

Once again, I'm super-surprised I don't see more Landmark pics cross my desk, especially considering the outrageous player designs that I've witnessed on the official site. But hey! It's a day to be pleasantly surprised, is it not?
"This shot, and a flight suit given by MJ in a contest on her Twitter, is what gave me a vague RP idea for my character," reader Wolfyseyes said. "This screengrab reminded me of those 'sword and planet' novels I read like John Carter, so the idea of a man-out-of-time trapped in a multiverse where he's granted demi-god powers was born. He's like Cable, except without the belts and pouches."
Gasp! What would Rob Liefeld think? I live every day of my life according to that thought.
Finding your friends in a new game is always a heart-warming moment, unless they are there to infest you with parasites, in which case it's a heart-worming moment. OK, now that you all hate me, listen to what reader Jesse has to say! Take it away, Jess.

Let's take it all the way back to the fall and the mass murder of millions of innocent leaves. Those trees have a lot to account for, what with casting off those leaves after they spent a chunk of the year feeding you! I am outraged, I tell you.
Reader Lindsay paints a more serene picture: "Here is my healer in Final Fantasy XIV. I took this picture and thought it was so beautiful and fall-like -- thought it would be perfect for the oncoming seasonal changes in real life."
