Confirmed: Christian Bale to play Steve Jobs in Aaron Sorkin penned biopic

Germany Berlinale The Flowers Of War Red Carpet

It's confirmed, folks. Academy Award winning actor Christian Bale will be taking on the role of Steve Jobs in the upcoming Aaron Sorkin penned biopic on the Apple co-founder. Bloomberg confirmed the news early on Thursday, with Sorkin himself noting that Bale secured the role without even going through a formal audition.

The movie itself won't be a typical cradle to grave type of biopic. Rather, Sorkin's take on Jobs will consist of three 30-minute scenes, each set backstage "before a trio of historic product launches: the original Macintosh, the NeXT and the iPod."

"He has more words to say in this movie than most people have in three movies combined," Sorkin told Bloomberg. "There isn't a scene or a frame that he's not in. So it's an extremely difficult part and he is gonna crush it."

Given Bale's track record, we're inclined to agree.
