METRO REDUX LAUNCHES FOR LINUX AND STEAM OS

4A Games set a new technical benchmark for native Linux videogaming

Larkspur, Calif., December 12, 2014 -- 4A Games and Deep Silver have released the dedicated Linux versions of Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux on Steam today, and in celebration, fans can snatch the award-winning titles for 50 percent off the regular price (http://store.steampowered.com/sub/44169/.)

Both games support Steam Play, meaning that owners of any Steam version will automatically find the respective game added to their Windows PC and Linux steam libraries. The titles were developed in-house at 4A Games, who have once again pushed the boundaries of native Linux gaming.

"Thanks to huge advances in driver support, the Metro Redux titles were developed for Linux using OpenGL 4.0," said Oles Shishkovstov, chief technical officer at 4a Games. "This has allowed us to deliver an experience that rivals the DX11 version for Windows in terms of graphical fidelity and performance - something that was just not possible when we ported the original Metro: Last Light to Linux a year ago."

Linux gamers can now expect a full suite of advanced options previously only available in the high-end DX11 version, including SSAA, Motion Blur, VSynch, and NVIDIA PhysX on supported video cards.

Mac versions of both titles, also based on advanced OpenGL 4, are set to release on Steam later this month.

4A games also confirmed the minimum and recommend specs for the Linux versions:
