The Queue: Hearthsteed, new content, and Zoidberg

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky (@adamholisky) will be your host today.

Today's questions are a bit short, but if you want some more -- just ask! A lot of debate in the comments yesterday was about a fool of an April. We'll keep in mind not to talk about such things in the Queue anymore, right along side puppies and bacon.

Chris Wunch asked:

Do you think the Hearthsteed is a temporary thing, or do you think it won't go away after a while

No, there's no indication that the Hearthsteed mount (which you get from winning three games against other players) is going to be going away. I could see it at some point changing a bit, or perhaps Blizzard adding a "if you win six games against other players you get a purple Hearthsteed!" But the mount itself should stick around.

And since any mention of the Hearthsteed will lead to people asking about the red version -- most people are expecting the Red Hearthsteed mount that were datamined to come from the iPad version of the game.

Bhuta asked:

Seen a lot of venom on the wow forums regarding the content lull... do you feel it's justified? Personally, I've got stuff to do but I was unsubbed from 5.1->5.4 (read: most of the xpac)... considering beta isn't in sight... and we're looking at a fall release of WoD... do you think Blizz is making a mistake not announcing some sort of holdover content?

I think that the longer we go in the MoP timeline without additional content the worse it's going to be for WoW's subscriber numbers. Unfortunately I don't think there's a way to get any hold-over content out the door at Blizzard, since most of the content is conceptualized a year or more in advance.

Could they still whip something up and push it out? Of course, but the further we go down this path, the less likely it is. And if they were to publish some stop-gap content, the community's annoyance level would go through the roof.

I doubt Blizzard is going to release anything until patch 6.0 hits, or the world event(s) leading up to WoD.

Gazaa07 asked:

Can tomorrow's queue be about Zoidberg?
