They call it Worms Battlegrounds, and it's coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 later this month. Team 17 brings familiar fights to new consoles on May 30 in Europe, while in North America it's May 30 for Xbox One and June 3 for PlayStation 4.

The intemperate invertebrates have 10 new weapons in their latest outing, including the intriguingly titled Winged Monkey, Gravedigger, and The Equalizer. On the single-player side there are 25 story missions and 10 time attack missions, while multiplayer brings four-player deathmatch and fort modes in both local and online varieties.

That's all well and good, but the console-specific features are where it's at. On Xbox One players can use SmartGlass to keep track of stats (there's a companion site for PS4), while on Sony's console the DualShock light bar changes color depending on the status of your worm. Ladies and gentlemen, the next generation has arrived.
