The Queue: Garrisons, bladefists, and Blackrocks

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Alex Ziebart will be your host today.

As is often the case with Monday editions of The Queue, we might be a bit brief today.

Benjamin Seeberger asked:

What's the max number of followers you can have? What happens when I want another follower but have no more room? What should I do!

The default maximum of active followers is 20. With a level 3 barracks, it's 25. You can recruit more than that, but you'll need to deactivate the ones you don't immediately want to use at the mission table until you're at 20/25 or below again. Should you ever want to reactivate one of them later, it will cost you 250 gold -- and you can only reactivate one per day.

@AlternativeChat asked:

How many of the WI staff are addicted to their Garrisons?

I couldn't be addicted if I tried! Maybe it's just my particular configuration of buildings, but my garrison feels rather non-interactive. Every day I clean out my mine, my herb garden, do the fishing daily, queue up my work orders, and I'm done. High level follower missions take an extremely long time to complete, so I generally only send people off on those once a day, too.

My inn gives me dungeon quests, but with 45-minute dungeons queues for DPS players ... I'm not even sure why I have an inn. Waiting is not my favorite thing ever.

@RichardkurnieJ asked:

kargath bladefist has the sword on left hand in cut scenes but right hand on load screen.is it interchangeable?

Kargath's bladefist has been changing hands for years. I doubt it's interchangeable in lore given he actually had a hand chopped off. It isn't a weapon placed over a still-existing hand. Aesthetically, I think Blizzard puts it on whichever hand is going to look cooler for the angle of a particular scene.

Burning Crusade took care of that problem, though. Kargath doesn't have any hands at all in that expansion!

shockzine asked:

If blackrock mountian was named by the blackrock orcs of draenor... what was the mountain called before the orcs came through the dark portal or to blackrock mountain?

I'm tickled that you asked this question, because no more than ten minutes before I sat down to write this Queue, I was walking home from the store and that thought struck me out of the blue. I had always assumed the Blackrock Orcs named themselves for the mountain they seized, but that's clearly not the case. I suppose the mountain must have had another name before that -- whatever the Dark Iron dwarves called it before they screwed up by summoning Ragnaros -- but I don't think we know what its old name was
