The Queue: All about that base

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) is answering all kinds of questions today.

I love my garrison and I probably spend way too much time in it. But I really like the whole home away from home base that I built all by myself. It's cool. I can invite my friends to it. I keep discovering new and weird things about it, every day. Did you know the NPCs really hate it if you sit in chairs that they're allowed to sit in? They will either stand directly behind you and breathe down your neck to try and get you to leave, or stand directly in front of you with their butts in your face, trying to accomplish the same thing. It's like living with a fleet of cats. They'll leave you alone unless you want to be left alone.

slipperee asked:

Q4tQ: Who is your favorite follower and why? Mine is Blook because who doesn't like having a big ogre/gronn stomping around?

At the moment, I think my favorite follower is still Lantresor. I loved his story in Burning Crusade, and I was really happy to see him again on Draenor this time around. But I tell you what, if Cro Threadstrong ever somehow magically made his way into the follower database I would never, ever, ever deactivate him. Ever.

CaptainCakewalk asked:

Anyone know if there are any Armour Vendors in Draenor? The ones I'm looking for are the levelling variety as if I'm honest the armour this expansion looks largely superb and I would like to find some pieces which have seemingly gone into hiding (meaning I accidentally sold them).

Sadly, it doesn't appear that there are any armor vendors in Draenor. However, most of the leveling gear you get while you're questing is also available as BoE green gear as well -- I'd check out the auction house if I were you to see if anyone has put any of it up for sale.

alpha5099 asked:

So I got my Barracks to level 3, and discovered that DKs can assign guards from Ebon Hold. Based on what I've looked up, it seems like the other special guard options are Paladins with Argent Crusade and pandaren with Shado-Pan. What other options would you like to see? I'd like to see Earthen Ring for Shaman, Kirin Tor for Mages, and Cenarion Circle for Druids.

Honestly, I'd kind of like it if every group I'd gotten to exalted with were available to choose from. It'd be a cool throwback to all those previous expansions I'd spent grinding out reputations, and give those old reputations a little new life. I mean if I'm the big old hero of the Horde or Alliance, everyone I helped from level 1 to now should be happy to come back and help me out, right?

RussHada asked:

QftQ: How long does it take (in real time) for the garrison cache to reach the 500 resource cap?

It takes three days -- so if you've got alts parked in their garrisons waiting to be played, you'll want to clear their cache out once it's gotten to max level. You can carry up to 10,000 Garrison Resources at any given time, so you might as well stockpile them until you're ready to level those alts.

@Cladriah asked via Twitter:

What buildings (non racial) do you think Blizzard will add in future patches. If they do add them.

That's a really good question, because I don't know if there's any other buildings they could feasibly add at this point. The thing about Garrisons is that they work in conjunction with other features of the game. Almost everything is pretty much covered with the existing spread of garrison buildings, so I don't know if there's anything else that could feasibly be added.

But if we were going to go out on a limb and just suggest anything at all -- I would love to see a building specifically designed for crafting cosmetic armor. Not like the war mill, I'm not talking about picking up iron scraps for a small handful of orcish armor choices. I'm talking a cosmetic armor building that would allow you to turn in various BoE greens in exchange for cosmetic items you can then use for transmog -- regardless of armor type. So if I, as a leather worker, hauled in a neat piece of mail armor, the building would then craft it into an appropriate piece of leather armor with the same model -- but a model I could actually use for transmog.

Have it cost either garrison resources or some other Draenor-specific item to craft said pieces, and you'd be golden. This would help breathe life into the garrison system after everyone's already got all the buildings and bonuses and followers and everything else their heart desires from the current round of buildings. It might be neat if they could incorporate some new armor models into the mix as well, but heck, I'd just be happy if I could craft cosmetic items in general. Transmog, despite being introduced in Cataclysm, is still a ridiculously popular feature. It wasn't even an expansion feature, it was introduced late in the expansion cycle. They should be doing more with it -- why not, when so many people love to use it?

Alternatively -- give us a tattoo parlor. Heck yeah I'd like some sweet tribal tats on my troll, yes please. We could use War Paints to get 'em.

@KaltonEly asked via Twitter:

Are there any additional benefits to the Tier 3 profession buildings other than 3-days worth of work orders?

For the profession buildings, no -- they just offer up to 21 work orders at a time.

@Fizzl_CTR asked via Twitter:

Is there a way to see time left on missions? If not, what's the reasoning? Would be nice to even have Short/Med/Long like AH.

Check your minimap, and you should see a button labeled Garrison Report. Click that, and it'll show you exactly how much time is left on the missions you're currently running, as well as any buildings you have under construction, whether or not you've got any work orders to pick up, and how many work orders you can place at any building you've got constructed.
