6 Leaks About the iPhone 7

The iPhone 7 is projected to be Apple's next release. This is always an exciting time for fans of Apple and fans of tech. Unlike the controversy that dogged previous incarnations of the iPhone, Apple has made a intensive effort to prevent news from leaking out. But as the news has proved they have failed to do so and a number of leaks have given the public a lot of information about the next iPhone.

This article is going to discuss the main leaks about the iPhone 7.

Will it Be Called the iPhone 7?
One of the earliest leaks to have come out about iPhone was a potential change to the naming convention. Apple is widely expected to release two versions of the iPhone; one of which will be a large 5.5-inch display. But some leaks implied that the iPhone 7 could be called the iPhone Pro.

Later leaks have apparently contradicted these reports, but it's still possible that the iPhone 7 won't be called the iPhone 7 at all.

A Modest Update with a Similar Design
Those who expected a huge revamp for the iPhone are going to be disappointed, according to the latest leaks. Most leaks seem to agree that the design of the iPhone 6S is the one the iPhone 7 will be going forward. It's expected that the same general shape will be maintained.

The main difference will be a less protruding camera. The antenna bands on the back of the iPhone are also expected to go.

Although the body of the phone is largely going to be the same, the latest leaks state that the front of the iPhone will come with a longer earpiece and a pressure-sensitive home button. The ambient light sensor is also expected to be relocated.

Will the New iPhone Be Thinner?
Another rumor is that Apple has been working to make the iPhone 7 thinner than before. They're intending to do this through removing the headphone jack. Replacing the 3.5mm headphone jack would be done through a slenderer lightning port. The difficulty with confirming or denying this rumor is that other supposed leaks have said that the iPhone 6S thickness will be kept in place for the iPhone 7.

The CEO of Snaplightcase said, "We are taking these rumors extremely seriously because a change in the iPhone's body size would alter the way we create our main product. We are hoping to have this rumor confirmed or denied as soon as possible."

Goodbye Headphone Jack
Lovers of the headphone jack may not see it again in future incarnations of the iPhone. Apple is widely expected to remove it entirely. Wired headphones would be connected via the Lightning port, whereas Bluetooth headphones will continue to connect wirelessly.

Speaking of headphones, Apple is said to be working on a pair of Lightning-equipped Earpods. If all this goes according to plan Apple would have another product to sell and the iPhone 7 would be more water resistant than any other model. Some people are even suggesting that the added space could be used for a second speaker.

The Smart Connector
An image of a device said to be iPhone 7 Plus and blueprints were released a few weeks ago. The shell appeared to possess a smart connector. A smart connector could serve as another feature, but it's unknown what Apple intends to use it for. What is clear is that the smart connector would be exclusive to the device with the larger screen.

What about the Internal Specifications?
Nothing relating to the internal specifications has been released as part of any leaks. But it's widely expected that Apple will be committing to making its newest smartphone more advanced than the last one. Of particular interest is what they do with the camera.

Some people believe there will be not one but two cameras. Most people agree that the optical zoom will be improved, but there are yet no signs that the latest iPhone will be able to shoot RAW pictures like a DSLR camera.

Conclusion
It will only be another month before Apple officially releases the iPhone 7 in September. Only time will tell as to whether these leaks are true.
