If you're in the market for a small player with decent features (especially if you're shopping for friends and family), it's easy to see the nano in the picture. The cost is reasonable ... and the selection of colors and updated software will lure quite a few shoppers in this direction.

Apple's slimmed-down, slicker-than-ever iPod nano responds to your movements, creates playlists it thinks you'll like, and makes the competition look like a bunch of clunkers.

This model has everything a portable media players could want. FM tuner, video recording, video playback, games, calendar, notes, Nike integration and music playback tossed in for good measure. The iTouch is great but I think this is the pinnacle of the iPod generations.
