Overall the new 27-inch LED Cinema Display isn’t the knockout I had hoped it would be. ... With a 120Hz panel and RGB LED backlighting it could have been both forward looking and near perfect, instead what we have is a display that’s good, but not great. quote

As a desktop display and USB extender, the 27-inch Apple LED Cinema Display works wonderfully; however, for $1,000, there are better monitors that offer more options, including PC and Mac compatibility.

Its glossy screen and lack of easily accessible color and ergonomic adjustments might turn off some users, but for most fans of the Mac aesthetic, this display will fit nicely into both their workflow and their workspace.

Good image quality, great looks and some rare strong speakers all combine to make the £899 asking price look almost reasonable.

But we'll leave you with this little nugget: at the time of writing, there was a 27-inch iMac on the Apple Refurb Store for £1,169 – so at just £270 more, you could bag a fully fledged computer instead.

Overall, if you are a niche Mac user already, the Cinema Display is more Apple goodness. But for many, the Apple Cinema Display lacks necessary features to accomodate a PC gamer's needs.

This is a beautiful display. Previously I had been very hesitant to fork over $1200+ for a display, but I have to say, this is actually worth it. For me, it was the notebook integration that made it - with a Macbook Pro unibody, it's a totally seamless experience with the iSight, mic,...

I love it. I've had several Dell monitors in the past and just got two new Dell 24 in Pro series from work and nothing compares to this monitor. It's gorgeous. Text is super clear, color is great, only thing better is my retina display iPad. So, needless to say I'll be upgrading once they come...

The 27" LED display replaces both the 24" and the long in the tooth 30" cinema display in Apples line. The 30 was the standard, the 24 was beautiful, and this is above both. The contrast and resolution give you as much pixel space as the 30" and the display properties of the...

Wonderful display, best I've ever had. Clarity is superb, the design and aesthetics are both top notch, and colour quality and depth are also excellent. The ports on the back would be easier to get at if they were on the side in the bezel for instance - say in the bottom? But that's a minor...
