The Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L USM is one of the fastest SLR lenses you can buy. It's expensive and heavy, but can create an extremely shallow depth of field.

I'm not all that hot on this 50mm f/1.2 lens because I didn't get proper autofocus results 100% of the time. I'm used to that on my Nikons. If you can get over that, or you have better luck with autofocus or focus manually with a special screen, go get one!

I can't say that the Canon EF 50mm f/1.2 L USM Lens is as great of a value as the 50 f/1.4, but I do think it is worth the price to serious photographers who need what it can deliver.

I've had this lens for over a year and love it! There is a lot of discussion about the lens, but if you know what you're doing it's one of the best lens you can buy for the full frame canon. I love it.

I owned a 50mm F1.4 which would take forever to focus and would sound like grinding two stones together while it focused. So I bought this gem of a lens. Love it. World at F1.2 is very different.
