There's a lot to like about this in spite of a few flaws.

How we score

The Engadget Score is a unique ranking of products based on extensive independent research and analysis by our expert editorial and research teams. The Global Score is arrived at only after curating hundreds, sometimes thousands of weighted data points (such as critic and user reviews).

Engadget Summary

Dell's 2013 revision of the 15R may be a budget laptop, but as PC Advisor points out, "the Inspiron 15R certainly doesn’t look like a budget laptop," and the "case is plastic, but solidly built." As the display only has a budget-friendly resolution of 1366x768, Notebook Check found it to be "middle class." Despite the mediocre display, PC Advisor was impressed with the 15R's performance, saying it "will take web browsing and office work in its stride" and that "battery life proved a pleasant surprise." With models running as low as $349, the Inspiron 15R is a budget friendly laptop that doesn't skimp on performance, just don't expect an HD display.
