How we score

The Engadget Score is a unique ranking of products based on extensive independent research and analysis by our expert editorial and research teams. The Global Score is arrived at only after curating hundreds, sometimes thousands of weighted data points (such as critic and user reviews).

Engadget Summary

Like its full-size big brother, Logitech's Ultrathin Keyboard Cover mini provides protection and a solid, comfortable typing surface, which is no small task, given the iPad mini's diminutive size. Although it's obviously not a full-size keyboard, the Ultrathin, according to PC Mag, "does a good job working within the confines of the mini's footprint" and "delivers a more comfortable typing experience than the competition." TechCrunch says the keys "feel great" and that despite some challenges due to the keyboard's size, "the good news is that the number of errors you make starts to taper off pretty quickly, and in very little time, you can even feel mostly at home on the Ultrathin keyboard." While the Ultrathin isn't cheap, it's a very good companion for your iPad mini, and, as TechCrunch says, it "greatly improves the experience of typing anything longer than a tweet."
