I have two Xboxes. One is soft-modded and running XBMC. The other is in a non-functional state. The hard drive is completely dead. It spins for a second, I hear the Click-Of-Death and then it spins down. I am not aware of any way to recover the hard drive password. I tried using the Linux disk for Xboxes and it didn't recognize the drive. My question is, can I buy a mod-chip and use it to install a new hard drive? Is there anything else I might need? If it matters, both my Xboxes are version...
