Sennheiser's Momentum headphones may be expensive, but for the price, you get what Inner Fidelity calls "the best sealed headphone for general purpose uses," a set of headphones that are "very good looking, very good sounding, have excellent isolation, are easily driven from portable players, and are supremely comfortable." Wired agrees, calling the leather-clad cans "downright sexy," and saying they sound "phenomenally sweet" and that "sonically, they certainly deliver on the expectations set by the $350 price tag." PC Mag also likes the Momentums, calling them a "victory of design and audio performance," and citing their "excellent audio performance, with no distortion at top volumes." Want something negative, to help you avoid spending $350 on these? Inner Fidelity calls them "slightly small," which could be a problem if you've got "larger than average ears." So, try them on, and if they fit (and you can afford them), buy them.

You get all the isolation and comfort of an over-the-ear design with only a fraction of the usual weight and bulk, and you get a clear, rich sound profile that will win over all but the most snobbish audiophiles. Serve that up with a generous helping of handsome, and you’ve got a winner.

The Sennheiser Momentum headphones may not have enough bass to satisfy every taste, but they are in every other way the best-sounding full-size audiophile headphones we've heard in a long time.

The Momentum’s sound quality, style, and versatility are so good, even with weak source components, that nearly anyone who can pony up the $350 should be very happy. It would be tough to find a better all-around headphone without spending a lot more.

All-in-all, we like the Momentums a great deal ...they certainly aren't cheap, so it's a considered purchase. For this money, there's lots of choice, but these are more natural-sounding and well-rounded than a lot of the "fashion headphones" that are designed for a specific type of music, and push...

The Momentum is simply one of the best balanced headphone offerings I've ever experienced. They're very good looking, very good sounding, have excellent isolation, are easily driven from portable players, and are supremely comfortable. This is an ideal headphone for home, office, and listening on...

Dipping their toes in the water of fashionable mobilewear, Sennheiser released the Momentum Black Edition to the public. While it certainly is slick, and it has a mostly good performance, there’s a really bizarre issue in the 3.5kHz range that will make higher notes sound very strange.

The Sennheiser Momentum are some of the best headphones money can buy if you need a set to take out on the streets. They’re comfortable, look a good deal swisher than Sennheiser’s other sets and offer sound comparable to that of its best portable cans.

The Momentum, however, both visually and sonically, is a standout in this group. It's a tad chunky for a pair intended for mobile use, and it's the priciest of the bunch, but it sounds sublime, and so it earns one of our Best Buy awards.

What makes them so nice? Well, for starters they're very light. They're also very comfortable, with real leather memory-foam earpads. I only got a chance to wear them for about 5 minutes, but Sennheiser reps said they're designed to be worn for hours and I believe them.

Compared to my AKG Quincy Jones (more expensive) they don't really shine but I can listen to them all day and that's important. Good sound.
