Japanese 2D anime fighter AquaPazza: Aquaplus Dream Match is being localized for a North American release, publisher Atlus has announced. Titled simply AquaPazza for its western release, the game will launch on the PlayStation 3 in both physical and digital flavors sometime this holiday season for $29.99. The localized version will be based on AquaPazza's most recent Japanese arcade build (version 2.01), and will maintain all of the original Japanese voice dialogue. AquaPazza is a crossover fighter featuring characters from different eroge (read: erotic) visual novels/romance simulators developed by Leaf, a subsidiary of Japanese publisher Aquaplus. Despite this, AquaPazza is a normal, non-adult anime fighter with relatively tame visuals, especially when compared to something like Dead or Alive 5. While the game has no ESRB rating as of yet, last year's Japanese PS3 release was approved for ages 12 and up by Japan's Computer Entertainment Ratings Organization.

Aquaplus was put in charge of completely redesigning Tears to Tiara. Initially a 2005 PC title, now a PS3 "exclusive" (sort of ... this new version appears radically changed from its earlier incarnation), Tears to Tiara looks to deliver on the PS3 gamer's desire for a JRPG. The style seems taken right out of the pages of the Fire Emblem franchise, which should translate to challenging and fun battles. There is a lot of potential in this remake and Aquaplus obviously spent a lot of time on it. Will we see it outside of Japan? If Sony is smart, perhaps. They seem to have forgotten a large portion of their fanbase they built with their previous consoles hinged on the fact they delivered the most JRPG's of all. C'mon Sony, throw us a bone here!

Because you know you want a JRPG for your PS3, you will watch this video for Tears to Tiara, a remake of a PC title from a couple of years back. Think Fire Emblem meets Thousand Arms. We expect difficult, strategic battles mixed in with almost embarrassing dating-sim momemts. What do you guys think? Will this even land anywhere outside of Japan, or will it stay local like Agarest Senki?[via PS3Forums]
