Too much cellphone news on Engadget?

You may be surprised to learn this, but we're currently at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, which is basically the CES of cellphone shows. We've seen a handful of emails from confused readers who didn't understand why the site was stacked from floor to ceiling with cellphone news -- and we wanted to clear things up. We're not just covering the news because there's a tradeshow going on, of course. There are some huge stories breaking at MWC, and we'd be remiss in our duties if we didn't cover every single one of them. Now, some of you may ask why we don't just carry the news on Engadget Mobile; the simple answer is that we are covering the news on Engadget Mobile, but the stuff that we feel has crossover relevance and appeal (which happens to be a lot this year) ends up on Engadget Classic as well. If you can't handle the insane and awesome torrent of phone-related news, you can subscribe to a special feed we've set up with Yahoo! Pipes which axes our MWC stories, but to be frank, you'll be missing a lot of really cool gadget news. Hey, it's your call.

Engadget Mobile turns 3!

It seems like only yesterday that we were wrapping Engadget Mobile in swaddling clothes and showing it off to the grandparents. Now look at it: a gargantuan force of pure cellphone-news terror, stomping across the internet and taking no prisoners. How adorable. And to think, it all started three years ago today! Take a moment and head over to our favorite mobile phone site in the world and wish them a happy birthday -- they deserve it. Oh, you might be interested to know they're giving away an HTC S740 to celebrate, so it's not just cake and ice cream that's being slung over there.

Here's to the next three... hundred!

Samsung F480 hands-on at Engadget Mobile

The Samsung F480 is a pretty slick device, featuring the new TouchWiz UI, a 5 megapixel shooter, widgets that can be added and dragged about on the home screen, and input feedback via vibration. Check out the gallery of glorious pics of the phone in action over at Engadget Mobile right this second!

Palm Centro unboxed at Engadget Mobile

Love Palm? Love the Centro? Love unboxings? Well, it's your lucky day, because we've got a lean, mean, eye-shattering gallery going on over at Engadget Mobile, featuring a full-on unboxing of the new Palm / Sprint entry. Direct your browsers this way, and prepare to have an out-of-body experience.

Engadget Mobile's relaunch blowout continues: Sprint UpStage

Some of the more emotionally stunted Engadget Mobile writers prefer to express their deep affection for our readership through their actions -- actions like, say, offering up day after unrelenting day of sweet contests. In fact, today marks the third in a row that our Mobile outpost is blowing out its fabulous relaunch with an awesome phone, and this time around it's the Sprint UpStage by Samsung. Get in while the gettin's good!

Be sure to get in the running for our previous giveaways, too: Helio Ocean, T-Mobile Wing

Engadget Mobile relaunches!

You might say we flashed Engadget Mobile with a new ROM. Or gave it a new SIM, or traded it in for a 3G model, or what have you. But whatever analogy you'd like to apply to it, Engadget mobile's been given its long overdue upgrade to the new Engadget layout, complete with breaking news / featured stories boxes and improved commenting system to make digesting the latest mobile news as easy as switching from 12-key to QWERTY.

Oh, and did we mention we're giving away a ton of phones over the next couple of weeks to celebrate? Because we are. Enjoy!

Oh, by the way, we're live from CTIA

Screw Disneyworld -- we're in the land of sun 'n fun for one reason, and one reason only: CTIA Wireless 2007. In terms of floor space and fanfare, CTIA's big event in the spring packs just a little more punch than its fall counterpart -- all the heavy hitters are out to play, but hot on the heels of CES, 3GSM, and CeBIT, major announcements are a bit on the light side. Far be it from that to deter us, of course; we're still determined to rock this house, so expect a never-ending torrent of coverage until the show's begging for mercy. Head on over to Engadget Mobile to make sure you don't miss a thing.

Engadget Mobile gets themselves a Helio Drift

You know how they do: only the best and the shiniest over at Engadget Mobile, and this time they've got themselves a new Helio Drift to play with. Head on over for shots, impressions and all that good stuff.

Engadget Mobile gets hands-on with Motorola Canary!

We've seen Motorola's RAZR sequel, the Canary, pop up here and there, but it took our boys at Engadget Mobile, with a little help from Boy Genius, to do it up right and get some serious shots of all that shiny blueness. Head on over for a whole slew of pics, but try not to get too jealous -- they too put their shiny-blue-pants on one leg at a time.

Hands on with Helio's Kickflip at Engadget Mobile

Our partner in crime gadgetry, Engadget Mobile, just got Helio's Kickflip in the mail and managed to pull themselves away from playing with the hot swivel action for long enough to put up some impressions, pics, and a video. Get it while it's fresh.
