Makayama making a movie mount for iPad 2
The Makayama Movie Mount is a tripod-mountable case for the iPad 2, designed to set up your Apple tablet for an extended amount of movie shooting. The mount clips right around the iPad, and it also has two hotshoes for things like lights or microphones, a screw fitting for a place to mount a lens converter, and a kickstand on the back to hold the iPad up as usual. Makayama has also made a free app for the iPad that allows you to control the finer aspects of shooting, with both video and photography. I'm not sure why, if you want to go to these lengths, you'd use the iPad specifically for shooting video. Why not just invest in a real camera? Still, if you already own the iPad 2 and wouldn't mind doing your shooting, editing, and uploading of video all on the same device, this might be just the thing. The Movie Mount is going on sale in October, and it will be available for $69.95 in the US.

We're sure there's at least one person out there who has been itching to shoot boat-loads of video with their iPad 2. Perhaps even a short film or two. Makayama's TouchBrowser adds iPhone-style browsing to Windows Mobile
Janky image aside -- there are so many perspective problems in that pic it makes us feel woozy -- Makayama's TouchBrowser does seem to bring the goods when it comes to scrollable web browsing on Windows Mobile. Featuring both mobile and desktop views, a full screen keyboard, and judging by the YouTube vid they've posted -- see it after the break -- it looks grand. The software supports all Pocket PCs with VGA or QVGA screens -- except Treo and Windows Mobile Classic devices. So if your touchscreen isn't getting quite enough touching and flicking, for only $15 this may offer up a small bit of joy.
Makayama's Mobile TV Center builds link between Windows MCE and WinMo handsets
Sure, there's always been that painstakingly slow method of manually / batch converting your shows to play nice on your Windows Mobile-powered phone, but Makayama's Mobile TV Center is here to make everyone's lives (at least those with Windows MCE) at a lot easier. Once you've installed the software on your PC, you simply select your handsets from the (admittedly clean looking) MCE-inspired interface, and everything else is reportedly "automatic." Scheduled / previously recorded shows will be converted in the background to a video format optimized for your mobile's screen, and once you connect your device via USB, the files are copied over and ready to view.
