It might be shortsighted to buy UMD-based PSP games so close to the launch of the PlayStation Vita, but these new deals from Capcom may still tempt you, especially if you're budget-conscious enough to wait on the Vita anyway. The publisher has bundled some of its most popular PSP games into $14.99 "dual packs," one containing Mega Man Maverick Hunter X and Mega Man Powered Up, and another containing Monster Hunter Freedom Unite and Freedom 2. You'll have to brave entering a GameStop for these, as they're exclusive to that retailer. Well, we suppose you could "brave" its website from the relative safety of your home, too.

I was playing Killzone: Liberation today and it's quite a challenging game. I began to fantasize about how proud I would be once I beat the game. That thought made me think back on all my prior gaming victories and wonder which one was the biggest accomplishment. I think for me it was probably beating Mega Man: Maverick Hunter X. When I was a kid I was as good at Mega Man games as I now am at remembering other people's birthdays, so it made me especially proud to beat it. So what PSP game did you find the most challenging? Also, what PSP gaming achievement (winning a game or doing something amazing) are you most proud of? [Update 1: Fixed formatting error.]

Capcom has announced that not just one, but two new Mega Man titles are PSP bound! Mega Man Powered Up touts a totally redesigned Mega Man look and feel and completely new gameplay options, including a level designer that will allow players to design their own stages. Mega Man Maverick Hunter X is a remake of the original Mega Man X title that first appeared on the SNES. The game builds upon the original, adding newly rendered 3D character models and new environments. Initially available in Europe (and via import elsewhere), Mega Man Powered Up will be available March 24 while Mega Man Maverick Hunter X will be available a month earlier on February 24.
