Paramore's "Brand New Eyes" album may not be so brand new anymore, but Rock Band Weekly is tapping it this week for a three-pack from the operatic rock band.

Rock Band is celebrating the 15th anniversary of Fueled By Ramen Records with a family pack of its more prominent artists. The spicy, high-sodium bundle includes tracks from Sublime, Travie McCoy, Cobra Starship and more. It will be available through the RB Music Store next week on Xbox 360 and Wii, and on PS3 once the update occurs after the holiday break. [Jreika via Shutterstock]

  • Free for All: Is free to play turning our kids into Vegas pirates?

I think it's the hair. In fact, I know it. The constant flicking -- it drives me nuts. How in the world did wearing your hair like 60-year-old businessmen become such a fad? I've now had my groceries bagged by 16-year-old kids with eyeliner on and dual piercings in their lips. When did looking like a Vegas pirate become so popular? The flicking of their hair -- it does something to them. Justin Bieber, in a recent interview, said that he was crazy. He insisted on it. Of course, his agent wanted to push this tiny public cry for help off as some sign of genius, but we all know what Bieber meant: "This hair is *flick* driving me *flick* flat-out bonkers." What also seems to be an issue with the youngins these days is an unfiltered access to the internet. I'm not kidding -- next time you're at the mall, ask the kid with the 30 Seconds to Mars t-shirt on who the vice president is. Then ask him to spell "lose." See, on the internet and inside any number of free games, he doesn't need to know this information. After all, the only time he might be worried about "loosing" anything is when he is busy PvPing. I might be onto something. Get the hair out of your eyes, join me after the cut, and we'll discuss it further.

  • Harmonix employees harmonize during a cappella Paramore song performance

Since only a fraction of Joystiq is headquartered out of Boston, MA we unfortunately aren't eligible to be honored with "Top Places to Work" awards like Beatles: Rock Band developers Harmonix, nonetheless host a company-wide singing contest. If we could though, we'd like to think our singing chops would at least match the five gentlemen (four from audio and one engineer) found singing Paramore's "That's What You Get" after the break. Winning first "among mid-size companies" and third overall in The Boston Globe's "Top Places to Work" survey, the 320 employee-strong music/rhythm-game studio was praised for its studio-wide a cappella singing competition. "I would do a lot to stay here," says senior writer Helen McWilliams. "It's really hard to imagine going from this company to any other company." That whole "making successful games" thing probably doesn't hurt either. (Thanks, DarkArchon)

  • Game with Fame hints at Sept. 23 launch for Left 4 Dead DLC

We look forward to Xbox Live Game With Fame announcements, largely because of our lifelong dream to play Madballs in Bebo Invasion with U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack (someday!). There's even more reason to pay attention to the most recent one, as it claims fans will get a chance to play new Left 4 Dead DLC "Crash Course" on September 23rd. The power of deduction indicates that the DLC should be released on or before then, assuming it's not part of a special sneak preview. Oh, and in case you're curious, those selected for Game with Fame will be playing against the band Paramore. Left 4 Dead is probably the best thing they've played in some time. [Via VG247]

Due to a hiccup in the system last week, Rock Band Weekly returns for a one week engagement on a Monday. Attempting not to enrage the rock snobs, we'll just say that this week's bands are less-well-known than many who have come before as DLC offerings. Black Tide is more a classic hard rock band, Paramore brings the female vocals and Serj Tankian is for somewhere around the time you're planning to hit the 2AM drive-thru window.Individual songs Shockwave - Black Tide (80 MS points/ $1) Crushcrushcrush - Paramore (80 MS points/ $1) Beethoven's C*** - Serj Tankian (80 MS Points / $1) Videos for the Rock Band DLC are after the break. This week Rock Band Weekly should return to its regularly scheduled Friday venue.
