NASA probe snaps Pluto's smallest moons for the first time
Getting kicked out of the major planet club always seemed a bit unfair to Pluto, considering that it has four more moons than Earth. On the other hand, two of those, Styx and Kerberos, are so small that we only found out about them a few years ago. NASA's New Horizons probe has just taken its first snapshots of those new satellites, something of a miracle considering it was 55 million miles away and Styx is only 4 to 13 miles across. It required 10 second exposures from the probe's sensitive Long Range Reconnaissance Imager (LORRI) and copious image processing to reduce background glare, resulting in the animation above.
Cyanide Studio announces, shares screens of Styx: Master of Shadows
Would you climb a multimile-high tower for a chance at wealth and learning your own origin story? Yeah? Alright, how about if it was filled with puzzles and tons of guards ready to grind your bones into the spaces of the stone floor? That's the peril the goblin Styx will face in Styx: Master of Shadows, a PC game with RPG elements from Cyanide Studios due sometime this year. In the world of Styx, a sprawling tower protects the Tree, a source of a mysterious, powerful substance called Amber. Players will face humans, orcs and magic-savvy elves as they try to clear levels and various objectives. The press release notes "murder, information recovery" and "thefts of precious artifacts" among the hurdles awaiting Styx. Levels will also be open to multiple methods of completion, leaving it up to players to sneak by stealthily or charge into all battles without reservation. As players ascend the tower, the experience they earn can be used to unlock skills, moves and weapons spread across six talent trees. That Amber substance won't be entirely useless in its mystery, either - players will gain power from the Amber, which can "help you out of a tight spot, make you invisible to the eyes of your enemies and ... generate 'disposable' clones of yourself!" We wonder if "disposable" is meant in the same way that Pikmin are "disposable," where you feel like the world's worst person as they're killed off.

AoC Lore: Boat Captain Amyr
Down in Stygia there's a river called Styx. Of all the boat captains in the Khopshef Province the most well known is Amyr, master of the Pride of Luxor. Unlike most of the other boats the Luxor is old, but so well maintained that you'd swear it was better than new. Decorated with bright colors, she glides across the lapping waves with little effort. No matter what it is (people or cargo) -- when it absolutely, positively has to get there... Amyr will get it there.The captain is a barrel chested, imposing man with a booming voice who has the command presence that even King Conan would admire. Blunt and forthright are his hallmark characteristics. While he may be stern he's also very shrewd, and can haggle with the best of them.There may be one (and only one) weakness. Rumors suggest that he has soft spot for a woman named Semira, a priestess of Derketo who lives on the island of Pashtun. No soul alive would openly suggest such a thing to Amyr's face.
