  • Apple issues OS X 10.8.5 Supplemental Update, iTunes 11.1.1

    Apple has released OS X v10.8.5 Supplemental Update 1.0 for Mountain Lion. The update, which is available in the Mac App Store or through the link above, provides the following fixes: Resolves an issue that may prevent certain applications from using the FaceTime HD camera on mid-2013 MacBook Air systems Fixes an issue that may cause external drives to be ejected after the computer goes to sleep Addresses an issue that may prevent HDMI audio from working after waking from sleep Fixes an issue that may prevent certain USB Bluetooth adapters from working. A restart of your Mac is required to install the update. In addition, iTunes 11.1.1 has been released. The update resolves an issue that may cause iTunes Extras to display incorrectly, fixes a problem with deleted podcasts, and improves stability.

Or is your system having trouble starting up with more than 64 GB of RAM? If you answered "Yes" to any of these questions, you may be interested in the OS X 10.8.2 Supplemental Update 1.0, currently downloadable from the App Store. This 27 MB Mountain Lion 10.8.2 patch fixes the three specific issues listed, and does require a restart. Macworld notes that there's also a 10.7.5 Supplemental Update in the wild, which addresses a Time Machine issue and a problem with Developer ID-signed apps failing to launch.

    A little over a month since OS X 10.7.3 was released on February 1, 2012, Apple has made a 10.7.3 supplemental update available via Software Update. The update is a minuscule 38 KB is size, and resolves an issue when restoring a Mac from a Time Machine Backup. If you don't want to wait for it to show up in Software Update, it's also available for direct download from Apple.
