New Windows Mobile peeped in Microsoft Live Mesh video?
Granted this only gives us a glimpse -- by glimpse we mean only a few seconds -- of what could be a new version of Windows Mobile 7 running HTC Touch Slide handset. The media sharing magic of Live Mesh is what's at the center of this vid, from Mac, to Windows, to mobile, your pics and content will wander -- but the quick glimpse of the sliding pane on the home screen did make us grin a little bit. Orange's HTC Touch Dual gets unboxed, strikes a pose
Orange UK seems set to begin shipping this lovingly branded handset and CoolSmartPhone was kind enough to introduce us all by way of some fresh unboxing pics. As we'd already heard, the Orange version of the outrageously popular Touch device will ship with a 16-key keypad, and not the painful SureType 20 key jobby we've also seen. Orange has also chosen to pack in a 1 GB microSD card for your expansion pleasure and has priced it anywhere from £99 (roughly $200) to £free (roughly $free). We're pretty confident that this set combined with a dash of holiday enthusiasm will most definitely help HTC reach its sales goals for the year.[Via CoolSmartPhone]
HTC Touch Slide pictured ahead of October 1 announcement?
Remember that press event HTC's got coming up early next week? There are plenty of rumored HTC devices that could be announced -- and a few in particular we know readers are pulling for -- but it looks like we've got at least one here that's a lock to see the spotlight. Known to many by the codename "Nike," the HTC Touch Slide takes the original Touch's small, finger-friendly package and makes good on two of its indiscretions by adding a slide-out keyboard (similar in layout to RIM's SureType) and a 3G radio. Other features should include WiFi, 128MB of RAM, 256MB of Flash, and from what we can tell, a diminutive case that holds true to its forebear despite the fresh slide mechanism.
