You're in for quite the piping-hot treat of justice today, as the Xbox 360 Fancast crew find themselves in rare form for the 190th episode of this podcasting institution. There's plenty of punny taglines for our coffee-themed super hero we've concocted in our noggins, but there's also talk of this Xbox 360 video games console thing, as well -- specifically, about how well Kinect has been doing and how much fun it is to stab your friends. There's a lot of talk about important things in this week's episode of X3F. We talk up the huge sales of Call of Duty: Black Ops and, of course, the impending sale of Harmonix. These things pale in comparison to the real topic of conversation however, because you must know that there is an intruder in your home ... and its name is Kinect. That's right: Kinect is watching you. What's more, we have proof (and a catchy theme song). The flood continues this week, with more and more fourth quarter gaming goodies falling from the sky. And with the flood comes the ever-present question: Which games deserve my money? Listen as we ponder the question without ever properly answering it! We've also got plenty of Kinect talk -- because that's coming out next week, remember? And finally, just for the hell of it, we talk about Ice T. • X3F's top stories of 2008

    01.02.2009

Now that 2008 has come to a close with both team X3F and the X3F community deciding the best games of 2008, we're feeling a little '08 nostalgic for some reason. Maybe we have an attachment disorder or are just in awe of how amazing 2008 was, but whatever the case, we wanted to revisit last year. So, we dug through the official X3F statistical library and uncovered the top fifteen most trafficked stories of 2008. All of which can be viewed in their news glory after the break. According to the traffic reports, Rock Band, Call of Duty, Gears of War, Xbox hardware revisions and NXE Avatars were all the rage in '08. Interesting stuff. Oh how we miss you already 2008. You were good to all of us, even the bad fanboys. But now, we say goodbye and welcome 2009 into our hearts as we look forward to what gaming news is yet to come.

  • It's Thanksgiving Day, now pass the gravy

    11.27.2008

Today is Thanksgiving in the United States, a national holiday when friends and family come together to gorge themselves, eat various poultry and pour on extra helpings of gravy. It being Thanksgiving also means you'll be seeing less news on X3F today (collective sigh ... ), because we'll be doing the whole family thing, taking it easy and doing a lot of gaming. For our fanboy friends in Europe, Canada and every other worldly place that isn't the U.S., we wish you a very happy un-Thanksgiving and hope you get a chance to participate in today's overeating ritual. On behalf of all of us at X3F, have a wonderful Thanksgiving (or un-Thanksgiving) and be sure to find time to express your gratitude to your 360.

If you've spent a few hours building up a mass of gold in Fable 2 Pub Games for Xbox Live Arcade or earned in-game swag through the game's website, our compadres at X3F have created a video tutorial guiding you through the steps of getting the gold and items into the game. Although unconfirmed, we've heard various sources say that those who cheated at Pub Games start the game with full corruption, rendering you quite hideous in appearance. Stay tuned all week to X3F for more Fable 2 coverage, including a guided tour of Albion.

  • X3F goes hooks-on with Pirates vs. Ninjas Dodgeball multiplayer

    09.02.2008

This Wednesday will see the latest round in the eternal battle between pirates and ninjas arrive on Xbox Live Arcade. Although we caught them coexisting on film at PAX 2008, know well that these two groups are still very much rivals, ready to take desperate measures (dodgeball, naturally) to settle their scores once and for all. (Or at least until someone comes up with another PvN game concept.)X3F had the opportunity to play the game's developer, Blazing Lizard, in a number of multiplayer modes featured in the final game (but that weren't originally; it was just going to be a one-mode affair) and survived to offer their thoughts. Click here to get your read on, whether you wear a black hood or an eye patch.

So, be warned, news may be light today, but our schedule should return to normal in the days to come. Happy Labor Day, happy Monday, happy existence ... it's time to go back to sleep. Sleep is good.P.S. We wrangled up a mountain of swag to giveaway, so watch for PAX fanswags in the weeks to come.

All the sticky X3F PAX stickering is galleried below, minus any ninja-sticks. Don't worry though, we'll get some ninja-sticks in before PAX ends ... we plomise.%Gallery-30799%

    08.25.2008

In light of a certain group's attack on our X3F Fancast and overall fanboy way a life, a collection of devoted X3F lovin' fanboys (some, just like you) have banded together to defend us all against such evil. And they call themselves the X3F Fancast Defense Force. They're a group of fanboys who not only defend Fanboy Towers through legal and mostly illegal ways, but also help promote X3F love across the world. Something our planet obviously needs more of.And wouldn't you know there's an official X3FFDF podcast (mp3) that just released yesterday (it's the first episode, so go easy on 'em) featuring fanboys Richard, Matt and Patrick as well as fangirl Holly (GIRLZ OMG!) talking Xbox 360, defense force tactics and (of course) X3F shenanigans. You never know, you may even hear a few familiar blogger voices on the podcast in the months to come.If you want to be in the know regarding all future podcasts, upcoming events or recent X3F attacks, simply make your way over to the official X3FFDF website and join the official X3FFDF Facebook group. Let's take a stand and spread unconditional X3F love!

  • E308: We can model X3F

    by

    07.21.2008

Towards the end of the Fable 2 / Banjo-Kazooie event during last week's E3 festivities, while we ninja-stalked Lionhead's Peter Molyneux, our own Richard Mitchell decided to pose for Gamerscore Blog's Dirty Diva. And, as you can see, Richard successfully posed an "X", "3" and an "F", though Dustin had to redirect his "3" seeing that Richard's first attempt to model the number was a bit backwards. X3F bloggers: We can spell, we can model and, darnit, we look good doing it too.
