Every week, WoW Insider brings you Blood Pact for affliction, demonology, and destruction warlocks. This week, Megan O'Neill thinks about making an orc warlock just so she can put on a black robe transmog -- including pointed black hat -- and stand on top of Karazhan, waving her arms, while yelling "FLY, MY PRETTIES! FLY!" into Ventrilo. Some time ago, I said minions were things we warlocks can't live without. I apologize. I was too enamored with the Supremacy demons to see that yes, you can live with demons just fine as a warlock in Mists of Pandaria. This week, we'll visit all the demons. I do mean all the demons; I'm going to review even the most basic of pet mechanics all the way to Command Demon and the Grimoire talents. If you missed the minor glyphs for pets or the new voice emotes for the Supremacy pets, you should check those out.

While RIFT's patch 1.4 has been on the test servers for a couple weeks now, we've finally received concrete details about Trion Worlds' latest update to this dynamic MMO. Titled "Legacy of the Fallen," 1.4 follows up the recent world event with a new epic quest line and a 10-man instance revolving around the continued threat of the Abyssal. The epic chain, called the Water Saga, not only reveals the truth about the origins of the Abyssal cult, but gives players an opportunity to score high-end loot and a special crocnard mount. Those looking for more group-oriented activities may want to check out the Drowned Halls, a 10-person sliver that presents an alternate view of history where the Abyssal have conquered Telara. Patch 1.4 has plenty of PvP action as well, including PvP rifts and alternative forms of warfronts. There are plenty of other goodies in store from the RIFT team, including quest item storage, the LFG tool expanding cross-server, and several new crafting options. Currently, there is no date for the patch.

Following last month's RIFT lore detailing the assassin Kira Thanos, today Trion Worlds has given us a new lore piece which outlines the Abyssal Cult. It's a dread cabal that follows the dragon of the plane of water, Akylios, who lies sleeping and dreaming in his prison. Akylios fhtagn! His followers are granted arcane and eldritch knowledge at the cost of their sanity, making the Abyssal Cult one of the most incomprehensible dragon cults in Telara. The cult itself is largely disorganized and chaotic, seeking neither treasure nor power, instead pursuing their own ends. The one tie that unifies the Abyssal Cult is the desire to free Akylios from his bondage. RIFT's heroes must not let the cult succeed lest Akylios spread his "gift" across the whole of Telara. Check past the cut for the full lore write-up on these Lovecraftian cultists, and remember that you can take the fight to them with RIFT's Ascend-A-Friend and free trial programs. %Gallery-101448%

Trion Worlds examines the new Rift: Planes of Telara dungeon called Abyssal Precipice in a new trailer featured after the break. Temperal rifts have torn apart the world of Telara with each unleashing a new, exciting, and dangerous adventure. Today, we examine the adventure atop the Roof of Telara. In the spires of the mountains of the Iron Pines, the cultists of the Abyssal seek to awaken the cephalon of Akylios. This ancient evil from the Age of Dragons is said to know the location of the Profane One, as the people of Telara call Akylios. All life on the Planes of Telara pray the Abyssal are not successful in discovering the location of the cephalon. The world is counting on you to listen to your call of duty. Only a climb to the snow-covered spires will prevent an imminent destruction. If you fail, Talara will be engulfed in the cold and chaos. Do not let the cephalon be found. Do not let the cultist unchain Akylios. Take a look at full trailer after the break. Maybe you will be the next hero on the Planes of Telara. Your journey begins through the next Rift! %Gallery-99479%
