WoW Moviewatch: Beebles Goes Home
We've featured videos from Beebles before now, which makes Beebles Goes Home a kind of sad reunion. Why sad, you ask? Because in this video, the eponymous Beebles returns to Kalimdor after successfully fighting the Lich King in Northrend. But when he steps his feathered foot in his homeland, he sees that there is no home to return to. Beebles Goes Home is a fairly pretty video, featuring some of the beautiful landscape found in Kalimdor. The plot is straightforward, of course, and the music is suitably haunting to go along with the content. Of course, in the very end, we have an adorable shot of a family of moonkin. WoW Moviewatch: In My Moonkin Life
Beebles created In My Moonkin Life to help raise the community's awareness of the Moonkin Hatchling. For every hatchling sold through the Blizzard store between Nov. 29 until Dec. 31, 2010, Blizzard will donate 50 percent of the purchase price to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The video features Beebles taking a tour of Azeroth with his loyal companion. It's a great little video that's trying to help a great charity, so my hat's off to Beebles for the effort. WoW Moviewatch: A Moonkin Space Oddity
We've talked about the sublime, unknowable joy of the Moonkin in previous Moviewatch installments. There's something wonderful and subtle about these creatures. A sort of oddness that sets them apart from your average creature. That's why it seems to be a particularly beautiful inspiration to couple Moonkin with David Bowie in BeeblesTV's A Moonkin Space Oddity. The video is straightforward and wonderful. The story is about a Moonkin who longs to return to his home. He embarks in a short, earnest quest to put together a rocket, and then shoots off into the sky. The video might feel like it runs a little long, but I promise the final bits make the journey worth your time. The filming isn't fancy or complex; instead, Beebles has focused in on his simple narrative. He lets the elements of his art do the heavy lifting. Like I said, putting Moonkin and David Bowie seems like a natural thing. Beebles gets a tip o' the hat for thinking of this coupling. And, really, it's hard to go wrong with Moonkin.
