Sega's Halloween sale might be the scariest yet. Starting tomorrow, the publisher is discounting some of its iOS games, including a couple that we'd literally be afraid to try on a touchscreen interface -- like Gunstar Heroes. You'll also be able to get a game for 99 cents that is abstracted enough from its source to be comparable to a ghost story or urban legend. Have you heard of the iPhone version of the Genesis version of Virtua Fighter 2? Legend has it you can see it if you search the App Store at the stroke of midnight, or any other time. It was once an arcade game, but then a mad scientist made a 2D Genesis game out of it. And then, years later, an even madder scientist ported it to iOS. Other listed deals include Brick People and Chu Chu Rocket! for iPad, for $1 each. Those aren't really that scary.

Sega's latest is available as a separate app on the iPad and iPhone/iPod Touch today, the Sega blog has announced. Brick People is a casual puzzle title in which players must use blocks to create structures and paths that lead the titular community to the thing they desire most: snacks. And here we thought those blockheads just wanted a hat that could fit them! Brick People isn't a universal app, so you'll need to download the specific app that's right for you: iPad ($1.99) or iPhone/iPod Touch ($.99). This is only an introductory price -- Sega warns that the price will go up after this weekend.

Sega's two newest iPhone games are really only similar in that Sega announced them at roughly the same time -- they make for a weird juxtaposition. Brick People is an adaptation of a cute arcade game about stacking physical blocks to guide on-screen characters -- of course, now, the blocks are virtual too. Samurai Bloodshow is a card-based war game made in a traditional Japanese art style. Do you want to see pastel bricks or vintage murder? Your choice! You can catch a Samurai Bloodshow today on iPhone or iPad for two bucks. Brick People will finally climb up to the App Store sometime this fall.%Gallery-132163%%Gallery-132310%
