Rockstar classic 'Bully' arrives on iOS and Android

Think of Rockstar and your mind probably jumps to the Grand Theft Auto franchise, or Red Dead Redemption. While excellent games, they've arguably overshadowed an oft-forgotten classic from the PlayStation 2 era: Bully. The adventures of Jimmy Hopkins at Bullworth Academy were charming and mischievous, blending pranks and favors with classroom mini-games. Ten years after its original release, the game is now available on Android and iOS. It comes with the extra classes, missions and characters from the Scholarship Edition (released on Xbox 360 and Wii in 2008), while introducing new lighting, textures and character models.

Dead and Loving It has been around for a little while, but it's such a fun video that I'm re-featuring it a little early. With a talent triumvirate of Greyfoo, EmberIsolte, and Bullworth, this song and story possesses a lot to recommend it. My favorite aspect of Dead and Loving It is its frame story. You start off with a human noob making a few jokes at an undead. That's the story that sets up the music video portion. Sure, it's a fairly classic technique, but it's a level of thought and premeditation you don't often see in modern machinima. I appreciate the extra touch. Interested in the wide world of machinima? It might seem a little late in the year for Brewfest videos, but this week is Thanksgiving. Having family descend on your home is the only event of the year that rivals Brewfest in making you reach for a stress-relieving brew. So in my opinion, Bullworth's timing is just great. Epic Eats: Booze Clues provides dozens of jokes in a steady, chill format. Most of my favorite gags come toward the end, but I loved the wolpertinger the moment it came on screen. Usually, that echoing voice effect is reserved for Arthas or death knights. Having that voice effect come from a cute little wolpertinger seemed deliciously ironic to me. This video is fun, and it's worth the time to check it out. Don't forget to leave a comment on YouTube, an important step toward letting creators know what you think of their work. It's been a while, but you should remember Bullworth from the fan-favorite machinima series Raid Eats. Bullworth is back with Epic Eats: Cataclysm, a tongue in cheek look at cooking changes all through the game. Bullworth settled on the name Epic Eats because he wanted to expand beyond just raid food. While there are a lot of fun raid foods, WoW now offers a much more interesting variety of cooking recipes. Bullworth needed to expand his series so that he could address them all. Also, he felt the new name serves as a better homage to Good Eats. Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! J'mie likes a big boom, and this video by Bullworth has quite a bit of big boom in it. The Wowbusters team, previously featured in Epic Fall, have returned in Wowbusters: Big boom! to test the Mine Sweeper achievement. I loved this video. Bullworth showed off his love of both WoW and the incomparable Mythbusters by blending the two in an endearing, fun video. I also appreciate that Bullworth isn't releasing these videos so quickly that they become commonplace. He seems to be taking time and care to make each video unique and amazing; that careful effort shows in the final product. Interested in the wide world of machinima? Work Warning: This is a parody of Family Guy. While it's hardly the funkiest stuff out there, the audio could still be a little rough for work. The video has some potty humor and a tiny bit of cursing. Bullworth has created another TV parody with this creation called Family Tauren. This is a parody of Family Guy, obviously; I can say so because I'm pretty good at detecting these things. The video's about six or seven minutes long, and you probably want to give it your full attention while it playes. Bullworth did a pretty good job of following the comedy style of Family Guy while still maintaining his generally good-natured humor. The video has a lot of shout-outs to Family Guy, pop culture and WoW community. It definitely helps if you're steeped in the culture to get all the humor, but I think there's enough variety here for everyone to have fun. The general plot of the story is Martin Fury, so check this story out if you're not familiar with the scandal. Interested in the wide world of machinima? I've continued to enjoy Bullworth's Raid Eats series. It's fun, quick and a great parody of TV's Good Eats. While I imagine most folks are aware of the game tricks Bullworth puts on display, I'm not sure that's really the point. The videos are just nice little bite-sized pieces of fun. In Raid Eats 4, Bullworth is out with his nephew when he's horrified to find that the boy enjoys McVendors. Of course, this doesn't sit well with the master of cow cuisine. He takes the boy on a wonderful journey of raid food, including a visit from Nutritionist R. It's a good addition to the Raid Eats series, though I wonder if we'll ever see Bullworth's sister again. • WoW Moviewatch: Wowbusters: Epic Fall

Bullworth is back with the release of Wowbusters: Epic Fall. This installment of Bullworth's material is an obvious parody of that perennial geek favorite: MythBusters. While Bullworth stands in for Adam Savage, the creator wisely chose a Kaluak to take the place of Jamie. (Really, what other Azerothian creature could pull off that moustache?) The pair of Wowbusters are testing the myth that if you're falling to certain doom but manage to dismount right before hitting the ground, you might somehow survive the fall. Bullworth used a lot of standard techniques from the original show, so this video comes across as a loving and detailed homage to Adam and Jamie. It's great work and a lot of fun. • WoW Moviewatch: Raid Eats 2: Cake!

Bullworth is now following up the hit machinima Raid Eats with Raid Eats 2: Cake! He's certainly tipping his hat to other games (and maybe the recent announcement about Portal 2) with his subject matter, as he assures his loyal viewers that the cake is absolutely not a lie. I actually think the sequel is better than the original Raid Eats. The camera work and storyline seems to flow a little more naturally, and the voice acting feels like it's stepped up a notch. The video is short and fun, and pleasant to watch. It's certainly not high-end story based machinima, but Raid Eats 2: Cake! is a lot of fun. I like the segmentation and pop-in work Bullworth is doing. He does a lot to add meta-commentary by dragging in recipes from the side of the viewing screen, and I appreciate that extra little emphasis it places on his plot. I have not previously been exposed to the work of Bullworth, although it certainly seems like he's been practicing machinima for quite some time. Tipped off to Raid Eats by reader Tom, I was pretty eager to check out a new creator. I wasn't disappointed. The video is short and concise. I think Bullworth does a really great job of avoiding long cuts and pauses that would disrupt from the flow of his movie. I'm not sure who the target audience for Raid Eats would be, since it seems aimed at new raiders. If I did need that kind of functional raid tip, I'm pretty sure I would have found the information enlightening. But machinima doesn't tend to focus on the early level of play, so I'm a little concerned I may have missed satire or something. The technical skills displayed by Bullworth are solid. While Raid Eats may not have the highest tiers of graphic manipulation, I think Bullworth shows a lot of sophistication and talent for putting together convincing scenes. Bullworth seems like he knows what he's doing. I'll definitely be watching him in the future to see where his further works go. Edit: As the first two commenters point out, Raid Eats is a spoof of Good Eats. Great catch! Obviously, that clears up the issue about whether it's satire or aimed at new raiders.
