Given the completely ridiculous Wii shortage that's still ongoing, there's obviously no shame in being somewhat off your rocker if one shows up in a nicely wrapped box. That said, there's still no way anyone in their right mind should get this excited about receiving a $299 game console, but we can't say we didn't get a few laughs out of watching his celebration. We'll stop yapping and let you get to it -- head past the break to watch the world's happiest Canadian of all time. Just make sure your volume isn't jacked first. [Via Nintendo Wii Fanboy]

Happy holidays, everyone! As you may have noticed if you've passed through a major city lately, World of Warcraft is in the swing of the holiday season with quests, decorations, and gifts for everyone. (If you haven't yet, head over to the trees in Orgrimmar and Ironforge to pick up your holiday gifts -- much easier to see this year with their floating exclamation points.) In honor of our in and out of game holiday, today I'm not asking you much of a gaming question. Instead, let us know how you're celebrating this holiday season. With family, with friends, in virtual worlds or real?

Just days after the IBM ThinkPad threw a shindig for its 15th, now we've reason to don our party hats once more for yet another notable birthday. The mobile phone industry is celebrating the 15th year of the Short Message Service Center (SMSC), which was the "principal application behind text messaging first brought to market by Acision in 1992." Over the years, the basic SMSC box has evolved into an IP-based SMS architecture, and while early iterations had a capacity of ten messages per second, current setups can handle a nearly infinite amount (good thing, huh?). So here's to you, dear SMS, and while we certainly hope you manage to hang around another 15 years or so, how's about cooling off the perpetual price increases along the way?[Thanks, John]

  • Creative's CEO offering up his Lexus to celebrate 25 years

If there's two things we like here at Engadget, it's charities and outspoken CEOs. Thanks to Creative accomplishing both in one fell swoop, the company will not only throw a month long celebration in Singapore, but give lucky donors a chance to roll away in Sim Wong Hoo's whip. To celebrate a whopping 25 years of staying afloat in the "treacherous" world of battling Apple while popping out sound cards, MP3 players, and other random gizmos, the firm is holding a one-month party with tons of sweet giveaway material to be handed out to winning donors. Topping the list is Sim Wong Hoo's (Creative's rambling CEO) own Lexus LS430 (hey, a man's got to have something to deduct on those taxes, right?), while lesser winners can take home one of the many ZEN PMPs available for raffle. While the actual name of the charities haven't yet been announced (saywha?), folks in Singapore looking for something to do on New Year's Eve should certainly cross their fingers for the "Lucky Draw" while partying it up with Mr. Hoo -- or fly to Times Square in a heavenly seat, your call.
