Music Master: Chopin is a music game for Eternal Sonata fans (and classical music fans in general). If you love classical music and music games, this will provide a welcome break from Mad Maestro! The PC/Mac/iPhone/iPad music game will feature playable arrangements of the music of composer Frédéric Chopin, in traditional arrangements as well as " vocal perfromances and rock arrangements," according to GameMusic.net. StacjaKultura reports that the game is one of the winners of the "Chopin 2010 Promise" competition, a Polish government program to promote Chopin-based projects in observance of the 200th anniversary of Chopin's birth. It's being developed by Poland-based Bloober Team, who is also working on the iPad game, Gender Wars. [Thanks, The_Shadow]

Namco-Bandai recently slapped an official U.S. release date on the PS3 version of Eternal Sonata, the former Xbox 360 exclusive RPG that conducted its way into our hearts nearly a year ago. While you're attempting to choose between The Joker or Jack Sparrow for your Halloween costume (very, very original, by the way), your attention may be diverted by the Chopin-tastic adventure, which will be landing on stateside pee-ess-threes on October 21. Considering the title will have been out for 13 months by then, we're not sure what fresh insight we could possibly add to the conversation, so we'll settle for an endorsement -- Eternal Sonata is the best musician-centric title since 50 Cent: Bulletproof.

At least, that's assuming Namco Bandai is only releasing one RPG set within the mind of a dying composer next year. The official press release reveals a new RPG called Eternal Sonata and describes the inevitably epic story as such: The story of Eternal Sonata begins as a famous composer, on his deathbed, drifts between this life and the next. In his reverie, a happenstance encounter of a young girl who accepts her terrible destiny and a young boy fighting to save her, changes the destiny of the world. Though piano maestro Chopin (not pronounced chop-in') isn't directly mentioned, it seems safe to assume that Eternal Sonata and Trusty Bell have his final and frighteningly colorful dreams in common. Judging by the TGS trailer, screenshots and IGN's preview, Eternal Sonata features absolutely charming graphics, classy music and a turn-based combat system that seems slightly reminiscent of those found in Xenogears and two thirds of Xenosaga. We certainly look forward to playing the English version next year and facing off against an evil, bio-mechanical Beethoven boss.
