The United Launch Alliance (ULA) Atlas V is the world's most reliable rocket, with a 100 percent mission success rate over 67 total missions. However, at a base launch rate of $109 million, it's a lot more costly compared to newcomer SpaceX, which has a starting price of $62 million. The raw launch is not the only cost, though, so ULA launched the RocketBuilder website to let potential clients, the press, academics and students configure a rocket like "building a car."

Oregon and California residents can now buy an electric car with an EPA range of 238 miles for under $30,000. Chevy's pricing configurator for its Bolt EV is now online, and as expected, the base LT model with a 10.2-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay (or Android Auto) and a rear vision camera costs $37,495, or exactly $29,995 after the $7,500 federal tax credit. If you get the premier model with all the options (including driver assist features) it'll cost $44,950, or $37,450 after US tax credits. As Chevy warned earlier, the DC fast charge option is $750 extra on all models.

Configurator 1.0.1 is now available in the Mac App Store. Here's what's new other than stability and performance improvements: • Enterprise apps packaged as .ipa files are imported and installed correctly. • Redemption codes for apps that contain a comma in their title can now be imported. • A redemption code may be reused to install an app on another device if the original device is unsupervised and erased by Apple Configurator, or if the app's installation did not complete on the original device. • The redemption code used to purchase an app in iTunes may also be used to install the app on one device with Apple Configurator. • The number of redemption codes remaining for an app is now displayed correctly. • Notes and bookmarks entered into iBooks and iTunes U are deleted when a backup is restored to a supervised device. • The WPA2 password is saved when editing a Wi-Fi profile payload. • The name of a stored backup is saved when edited. • The storage capacity of an 8GB iPod touch is now displayed correctly.

  • Apple trademarks 'Configurator' app name

Apple has posted a trademark to cover the "Configurator" app that arrived in Software Update last week. The app allows users to configure (surprise) various iOS devices all connected to one computer or network, easily updating apps and the operating system, and even installing wallpapers or other information to a device's lock screen. The trademark covers the app, which Apple calls "Computer software used to configure multiple digital electronic devices." This is basically business as usual for Apple's legal department, though filing for a trademark now (a week or so after the app is actually available to the public) seems a bit late for the company. The trademark itself was filed back on March 7, right as the app dropped, so this is likely the legal team catching up to Apple's developers and covering the company's bases post-release.

Apple has released Configurator, a free app for OS X that makes it easy to administer several iOS devices at a time. Nice for schools, businesses or even a big family. Three simple workflows let you prepare new iOS devices for immediate distribution, supervise devices that need to maintain a standard configuration, and assign devices to users. Quickly update 30 devices at a time to the latest version of iOS, configure settings, and install apps and data for your students, employees, or patrons. Apple Configurator can be used by larger organizations and businesses to set up new devices, install enterprise apps, and enroll each device with a Mobile Device Management solution for remote management by an IT administrator. It is perfect for the classroom or student lab where devices need to be quickly refreshed and kept up to date with the correct settings, approved policies, apps and data. Apple Configurator can also be used to personalize devices with data and documents for specific users, and an administrator can apply custom text, wallpaper, or the user's picture to a device's Lock screen. The app is a 15.8 MB download from the Mac app store and requires OS X 10.7.2 or later.
