TUAWloha, y'all. This episode of everybody's favorite hour-long Apple-fest should be a lot of fun. I've got some videos queued up and ready to roll, we'll talk about the Internet piracy on the high seas, and there's even a somewhat live hardware review planned. Of course, the topics of discussion are ever-changing on TUAW TV Live, so you might find that we don't follow a set agenda. If you've never joined us for TUAW TV Live before, it's easy and fun. Just click the "Read More" link below, and that will open up this post in a full page. You'll see two windows; one is where the live video shows up, the lower one is where you can chat with the crowd and ask questions. The show lasts about an hour, and I'll try to answer as many questions as possible, although sometimes the best answers come from our viewers.

If you're going on a cruise vacation, don't be concerned about being out of touch. Chances are excellent that you can use your cell phone.Reader Steven Madow reminded TUAW that many cruise lines use a service called Cellular At Sea to provide you with satellite-linked cellular service. Almost 100 ships currently use the service, which is a joint venture between AT&T Mobility and SeaMobile.Madow said that with his iPhone, configuration was a simple matter of looking at the settings (right) for a carrier called "Cellular at Sea." The cost of the service varies depending on your home carrier, but for AT&T users it is about $0.79 per minute. While that's not exactly cheap, it's priceless if you need to keep in touch in case of an emergency. Most cruise lines also provide Wi-Fi based onboard Internet service. Rates for these services usually range from $0.75 per minute down to $0.30 per minute. The more time you prepay, the lower the rate is.To find out if your favorite cruise ship has Cellular At Sea or Internet service, click the Read link or visit the website for the cruise line. Thanks for the tip, Steven!

If there's one glaring negative about hopping on a cruise ship off the coast of Europe and letting go for weeks at the time, it's the gaping hole in your soul created from losing HD programming for that same amount of time. Now, however, RICO is showing off BNS' HD IPTV solution designed specifically for vessels and cruise ships at the Asia Pacific Maritime trade show. Purportedly, the solution will support broadcast HD channels, video-on-demand services, personal messaging and interactive services, and while no cruise lines were specifically mentioned, the firm is unquestionably aiming to "deploy BNS' MDU IPTV solution to the hospitality market in the maritime segment." Pssh, who needs ocean views when you've got this?
