"Throgg, we're supposed to be finding your dog." "Our dog." "Your dog," Lolegolas countered. "What are you doing in there? We're in a hurry." "It's an outhouse," Throgg replied from behind the wooden door. "It's the Throne of Thunder. What do you think I'm doing?" "Forging Deep Thunder," Lolegolas said. "Reborn." "Really, little elf?" Throgg sighed. "I've dealt with your puns for years. At this point, I'm allowed more than a few in vengeance." "Doesn't matter. Can't make that until we get to the Lightning Forge." "Thunder & Lightning," the blood elf commented idly. "I get it. It's like a theme. Maybe we can get a flame decal up the side of something to help illustrate the awesomeness." "Why not?" Throgg asked. The outhouse shook a little. "You'd look good with mullet." "I'd rather re-elect Garrosh." The outhouse only thundered in response. Item Note: Finally, it's the return of that old standby of overpowered Arenas... Deep Thunder. I kept wondering when it would make its comeback. Phat Loot Phriday brings you the scoop on some of the most ... interesting ... loot in the World of Warcraft, often viewed through the eyes of the stalwart Throgg and indelible Lolegolas. • IBM demonstrates Deep Thunder weather app on iPad

Almost everyone knows about Deep Blue, the chess playing supercomputer. But have you heard of its counterpart Deep Thunder? If you haven't, you will, because it may be coming to iOS as an iPad app, says IBM in an IdeaLab article on the Talking Points Memo website. Deep Thunder, like Deep Blue, is a parallel processing supercomputing system. Instead of chess, Deep Thunder is designed to assist with weather forecasting. It takes weather data from a variety of sources like the NOAA and the USGS and crunches that data to provide a detailed weather forecast. IBM says Deep Thunder "allows for an unprecedented granular look at incoming weather over an 84-hour period in a specific location, down to within a square mile, much more detailed than any other current weather forecast can provide." Not only would this be fantastic for iOS users, it would also be useful for landscapers and other people whose jobs are influenced by the weather. There's no timetable for release, but Talking Points Memo did see a working, but rudimentary version of the app.

So you're finally 70. Welcome to the select order of masochistic players who endured the tedious grind (or, if you leveled as Protection, the happy AoE grind) to max level with a class sometimes considered to be a WoW developer's afterthought. The Paladin class, popular as it is, has traditionally had a slow development cycle. That said, one can choose to see it as a blessing (pardon the pun) rather than a curse, in the hopes that developers will build Paladin talents adaptively and from the lessons provided by other classes. Don't hold your breath.Anyway, so you're Level 70. You're now ready to enter Karazhan. Well, ok, not really. Right about now is when you should be gearing up for Karazhan, The Burning Crusade's entry level and most popular raid instance. With the removal of the attunement process in Patch 2.4, you won't even need to have The Master's Key, but you'll need to have a friend who can open the gate for you. More than a few Holy Paladins will have an easy time getting into a group for Karazhan because let's face it, everybody loves a healer. Then there are the Paladin tanks who'll get that loving invite to visit Deadwind Pass because, again, everybody loves a tank. But you, the vindictive 2-hander-wielding, Judgement-spamming, Crusader Striking champion of truth and justice... well, nobody loves you.
