Marvel is turning some of its best-known comic books into audiobooks
Marvel's interest in digital audio isn't limited to podcasts. The media giant and Dreamscape Media have reached a deal to turn dozens of better-known comic books into audiobooks, including Ultimate Spider-Man, Ultimate X-Men and Daredevil: The Man Without Fear. About two dozen of them are exclusives from Dreamscape, while another 20 haven't been widely available before.

Movie theater chain AMC is committing to virtual reality in a big way. The company has announced a $10 million investment (as part of a $20 million investment round) in Dreamscape Immersive, a VR storytelling studio with a focus on room-scale installations and real-time motion tracking.
The Road to Mordor: Dungeon-running with Turbine
As we talked about last month, Turbine's toting around a double-barreled shotgun full of content that it's preparing to unload. While the biggest blast will undoubtedly be Lord of the Rings Online's third expansion, Rise of Isengard, the team is working hard to provide us with plenty to do between now and then. Part of that effort is directed at Update 3, which is currently scheduled to go live on May 23rd in North America and after June 1st for Europe when the LotRO Global Service takes effect and all of the accounts are moved under Turbine's purview. I eagerly sat down with Turbine's Aaron Campbell and Joe Barry for a play-through of Update 3's two new three-player instances, Halls of Night and Inn of the Forsaken. Both of these scalable instances will be available to a wide swath of players, and they feature mechanics and sights never before seen in the game. Also, they're wicked cool. So join me today as I take you on a brief tour of horrors and adventures beyond imagination. Has everyone used the restroom before we go? Are you sure? It's a long article; I don't want you leaving in the middle of it. OK, let's ride!
Unreal-powered 'Dream:scape' coming to iOS
Developer Speedbump Studios refers to Dream:scape as "an explorable narrative," tasking players with reconstructing the past of Wilson, a man "caught in the limbo between life and death." If that pitch hasn't hooked you, maybe the mere mention of Unreal Engine 3 graphics will -- a so far marginally tapped resource for iOS games. Dream:scape is headed to iPhone and iPad "soon." Check out the ethereal, semi-spooky trailer after the break.
WoW Moviewatch: Shining Dreamscape
You may recall Snoman as the chap who did WotLK White Dreamscape. Snoman didn't feel like other preview videos had done justice to the landscape in Wrath of the Lich King, so he created White Dreamscape to give it a much better showcase. Now, Snoman has just released the new video in his Dreamscape series, in which he takes the modelling of Azeroth, and creates something new and interesting. This video was absolutely gorgeous. It's filled with brilliant and breathtaking views. The technical aspects of Snoman's work are leaps and bounds above much machinima, and every angle and scene shows off his incredible eye for detail. I'm usually hesitant to use words like "gorgeous," but I can think of few videos that deserve it as much as Shining Dreamscape. Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! Have suggestions for machinima we ought to feature? Toss us an e-mail at machinima AT wow DOT com.
