Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies was just released on the DS -- if you've yet to check out our review, then here's the pertinent linkage. So, considering how much Square Enix has invested in the title, it's no surprise the brunt of producer Horii's chat (which you can see for yourself past the break) largely revolves around his hopes for the game. Basically, he wants everyone to play it. What a surprise!%Gallery-95770%

Look -- the above TV spots for Super Mario Galaxy 2 are really slick and all, but now we've got one thing on our mind: pancakes. Now that we know there's a stack of flapjacks out there with its own gravitational pull, we just can't wait to dig in. Thankfully, we won't have to wait too long to satiate our need for edible planetary bodies. For the rest of this week's Nintendo Channel content, head past the break.

It's slim pickings this week on the Nintendo Channel. Aside from the TV spot for Picross 3D above, there's only a handful of info videos for this week's downloads and a video of people reminiscing about Pokemon. There aren't even any new DS demos to check out. Come on, Nintendo -- throw us a bone! Preferably a DS demo-shaped bone ... Head past the break for the full list of this week's content.

Hot on the heels of this morning's announcement, Nintendo Week -- the weekly show documenting the content available on the DSi and Wii on the Nintendo Channel -- gets its hands on the new black Wii console. You know, the one coming May 9? They don't show it off for long but, as you can see in the image above, we now know this: it's extremely glossy. We thought it prudent to take a break from the WarioWare D.I.Y. highlighting of the last few weeks even though there's a new video in the ongoing series this week, with Alex Neuse from Gaijiin Games. See, this week some of the developers from Capcom show off a great deal of Monster Hunter Tri, documenting some of the weaponry, multiplayer features and, of course, the monsters in the series' latest. It's an enlightening few minutes of footage, so check it out above. When you're done, head past the break for the full list of this week's Nintendo Channel content. %Gallery-86439%

This week, WayForward's Sean Velasco offers Nintendo Channel viewers a look at the delightful-looking A Boy and His Blob, describing the colorful sidescrolling adventure as "a sincere game in a cynical time." We suppose that the level of interest the game inspires could be related to your own cynicism. In short, if the look of this game does nothing for you, you're either too cynical or you've spent too much time playing the NES game. It would be a kind of blah week on the Nintendo Channel, due to nothing but old demos and generally unexciting videos -- if not for the inclusion of a gameplay trailer for today's most extreme release, Rock 'N Roll Climber. There is no way to feel anything less than amped about a game that combines the dangerously awesome sport of rock climbing with the rebellious, implied rocking of air guitar. After the break, you can see the full list. Spoiler alert: none of the demos involve rocking or rock climbing.

var digg_url = 'http://digg.com/nintendo/Wii_Update_Nintendo_Channel'; That blue glow from our Wiis can only mean one thing -- time for an update! This wasn't just any old update, though. After months of coveting the service, the Nintendo Channel (known in Japan as Everybody's Nintendo Channel) is finally available for download via the Wii Shop Channel. The download is free, but will take up a few blocks, so make sure you have enough space. You'll also need to have updated your Wii since March 20th in order to get it, according to Nintendo. We're pretty pleased with what the channel has to offer so far. There's already around forty videos available for your viewing pleasure. Most of them are just trailers for upcoming Nintendo games, but there's also a nice little Miyamoto interview.Aside from watching videos, make sure to click on the "Find Titles for You" tab. Here, you can check out the newest titles for Nintendo consoles, and also download demos for DS games. These are just our initial impressions from browsing around the channel, so if you notice any other neat features, be sure to let us know in the comments! Nintendo also posted a video of the various things you can do with the channel, which you can check out here.[Thanks to everyone who sent this in!]

  • Complete DS game downloads headed to Nintendo's Wii

Just a few months ago, we received word that DS demo downloads would be headed to the Wii, but if recent comments made by the Big N's own Reggie Fils-Aime are to be believed, entire games are also on the horizon. According to the New York Times, Reggie noted that "complete games as well as game samplers will be able to be downloaded into the Wii using its broadband connection, and then transferred wirelessly to the DS." Sadly, no definitive time frame for the service was revealed, but you can color us all kinds of intrigued.[Via PCWorld]

  • DS demo downloads coming to the Wii

It looks Nintendo has plenty more than just keyboard support in store for the Wii, with the company also taking advantage of a recent conference in Tokyo to announce a forthcoming DS demo download service for the console. Dubbed "Everyone's Nintendo Channel" (at least in Japan), the service effectively turns your Wii into your very own DS Download Station, with both game demos and videos available to be transferred to your DS. Unfortunately, there's no word as to when the service might actually become available, although we doubt Nintendo would risk raising the ire of the DS-toting masses by holding out on it for too long.[Via DS Fanboy, image courtesy of C3 News]
