This week's Xbox Live Deals With Gold sale bring permanent discounts to the Xbox One's "top titles," while Capcom takes a hatchet to the prices of its various downloadable offerings on the Xbox 360. From August 6 onward, Dead Rising 3, Ryse: Son of Rome, Forza Motorsport 5 and Kinect Sports Rivals will be priced at $50 - a $10 discount off of each game's launch price. According to Microsoft, this new price is universal, so you'll be able to pick up any of these games either at retail or through the Xbox One's digital store at the new $50 price point. Capcom's discounts are much more impressive, as every game and DLC listed has been reduced in price by at least 50 percent. Highlights include Dead Rising 2: Off the Record for less than $7, Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara at $5.09 and the phenomenal Street Fighter 3: Third Strike Online Edition for only $3.74. Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara, which bundles both of Capcom's arcade classics, finally makes its way to the Wii U this week. Also heading to the Wii U are Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams and Breath of Fire 2 (another Capcom oldie). Meanwhile, the 3DS picks up the eShop releases of Sonic Generations and Boulder Dash XL 3D. The 3DS also gets an interesting Virtual Console release in the rare Famicom shooter Recca, which was created for a competition in 1992. Physical copies are apparently tough to find, with current prices on eBay topping $500. Since we're on the subject, the Sega Saturn version of Dungeons & Dragons is pretty rare as well.

Chronicles of Mystara rolls onto the Wii U as part of this week's eShop update on Thursday, September 5. Capcom's compilation of 90s D&D games Tower of Doom and Shadow Over Mystara was delayed into September, but thankfully it hasn't ventured too deep into the month's catacombs. That said, Europe has to wait until next week, on September 12. Among other updates, like a new challenge system and being able to mess around with "house rules," Chronicles of Mystara features drop-in/drop-out online multiplayer and online leaderboards. The game is already out on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, but the Wii U edition does add GamePad integration such as item management via the touchscreen. Capcom has yet to make mention of off-TV play one way or the other.

The Wii U version of the arcade brawler bundle Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara has been delayed to September, Capcom community liaison Gregaman confirmed in a statement at Capcom Unity's forums. "We regret to inform you all that the release of the Wii U version of Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara has moved to September," the statement reads. "There have been a number of development issues and despite our best efforts, the delay could not be avoided. We realize this is a frustrating situation for everyone out there but we ask for your continued patience and support. Updates will be provided as the situation develops." Capcom did not elaborate on the nature of the issues it faced in releasing the Wii U eShop port. Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara launched for Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network in June, offering up ports of the '90s beat-'em-ups Dungeons & Dragons: Tower of Doom and Shadow Over Mystara.

While Capcom's arcade brawler compilation Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara hits the PlayStation Network in North America tonight (and Xbox Live Arcade tomorrow), D&D fans in Japan might want to hold out for an upcoming PlayStation 3 retail release, which offers exclusive features and enhancements not found in the digital version. The PS3 retail version's Facebook page describes the release as a treasure trove for retro gaming connoisseurs, comparing it to the well-received Street Fighter Alpha Anthology on the PlayStation 2. The collection includes a color-edit feature, and allows multiple players to play as same character. The retail edition also offers an in-depth series of options, allowing players to toggle features like random damage and breakable weapons. A similar "House Rules" system was announced for the digital release. The digital version set for release this week is developed by Iron Galaxy, who previously produced arcade compilations like Darkstalkers Resurrection and Marvel vs. Capcom Origins. NeoGAF member toypop notes that the PlayStation 3 Blu-ray version of Chronicles of Mystara is developed by an internal Capcom team staffed by developers of the original Dungeons & Dragons arcade games. The PlayStation 3 retail version of Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara will launch in Japan this August. Capcom confirmed with Joystiq that the retail edition is exclusive to Japan, and is not scheduled for a North American release.

]During a panel at PAX East, Capcom confirmed plans to port its two Dungeons & Dragons games for release on Wii U eShop, Steam, PSN, and XBLA as "Chronicles of Mystara." The collection comprises 1993's Tower of Doom and 1996's Shadow Over Mystara, both beloved four-player arcade fantasy brawlers set in D&D's Mystara world. The only previous home release for these games was on the Saturn in 1999, which limited the games to two players, and further limited the games to being played by people who owned a Saturn. The new version integrates a challenge system, and includes drop-in, drop-out online multiplayer using GGPO. A new "house rules" system will let you change the mechanics, turning it into a time attack or losing money instead of health when damaged, for example. The Wii U version will include WiiPad enhancements, including touchscreen item management. All versions will have online leaderboards. Chronicles of Mystara will be released in June for $14.99.

A new Dungeons & Dragons game, Dungeons and Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara, has been classified by Korean ratings board GRB and evaluated for consumption on both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.The classification lists Capcom Entertainment Korea as the game's publisher, which implies that Chronicles of Mystara may be a bundled re-release of Capcom's classic Dungeons & Dragons brawlers Shadow Over Mystara and Tower of Doom, both of which will reportedly be announced for PSN and XBLA during PAX East, according to Siliconera. While the true nature of the game remains a mystery for now, we're keeping our fingers crossed that things will shake out the way they're looking. The last time Shadow Over Mystara and Tower of Doom were sold together was in Dungeon & Dragons Collection for the Sega Saturn, which we recently saw in a Akihabara resale shop for more than $300.
