Whack a GM for profit in Runes of Magic
The Game Master is a sacred position, only attained after decades of painful training under the practiced eye of an ancient guru. Well, that, or an application to a studio and a subsequent interview. Either way, to be in the hallowed presence of a GM means that you either messed up badly, or you need help. Runes of Magic throws out a third scenario by placing a bounty on all of their GMs during a special event held tomorrow, May 7. As part of their "Expedition 60" program, they're inviting players to hunt down and terminate -- with extreme prejudice -- GMs any and everywhere they are spotted. Why would anyone be so suicidal to take on a full-fledged GM? For rewards, of course! If a GM is found and downed, they will drop a permanent Purgatory Nightmare Mount. Runes of Magic rocks with Ruzio (and two other new mounts)
Three new mounts are always a good reason for gamers to celebrate, especially when the mounts themselves are part of a greater celebration. In the spirit of Walpurgis Night, Runes of Magic is treating players to a trio of special mounts for the holiday. Flyers may choose between a zippy broom or a rune disk to jam up the local airspace, but for our money, Ruzio the Expedition Donkey -- while lacking wings -- is a promising candidate for transportation. Everyone wants a sassy yet trusty donkey who has an affinity for waffles, right? These three mounts will only be available for a limited time, from April 26-30, and only through Runes of Magic's item shop. New mounts or no, players are currently enjoying the benefits of "Expedition 60," a special event geared toward getting players leveled up in preparation for an increase in the level cap (as well as other spiffy content). Runes of Magic touts Chapter 3 training program, bonus XP
Frogster, North American publishers for the hit free-to-play MMORPG Runes of Magic, has just announced a ten week training program designed to prepare players for the game's upcoming third chapter. The program, titled 'Expedition 60,' aims to assist denizens of Taborea to level up and gain access to high-level areas prior to The Elder Kingdoms expansion. "Recently Runes of Magic reached a significant milestone with the announcement of three million registered players in North America and Europe," said Andreas Weidenhaupt, Frogster CEO. "As the game community grows on a daily basis, Frogster is celebrating by creating a very special training program leading up to the launch of Chapter III – The Elder Kingdoms."
