Yesterday's topic got us thinking about another awesome game set to come out this year: Super Mario Galaxy. As we're sure you've noticed, there have been a few of these Mario games over the years (and spin-offs!), and each one tends to have something special. Then there are remakes, tie-ins ... Mario Kart, Mario Golf, Mario Tennis ... is there anything the crew can't do? But that isn't the question on the table. The question is: what's your favorite of the Mario games? Since there are so many different types and styles, we won't fuss if you choose a few favorites instead of just one.

So, we gotta ask: what's your favorite genre, if you had to choose? That's a tough one for us; honestly, tastes tend to change day to day and by what's in front of us. We love action and we love puzzles, and sometimes we prefer racing or RPGs. But if you had to pick -- even if you can only narrow it down to two -- what do you think would win out in a battle for your tastes?

The ESRB website typically reveals upcoming titles for the Virtual Console, and though it's by no means any sort of surprise, it looks like Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will soon be coming to a Wii near you. This prompted some discussion among the staff, of course, and after several fingers were dislocated and a kidney stolen in the night, we reached no definite conclusion. Which of the four major Sonic titles of the 16-bit era was the best? Some say Sonic 3 (and what charming, handsome fellows they must be), but others say Sonic and Knuckles (the more crude, surly members of the staff, certainly). I mean, we already totally know what the right answer is, but do you guys agree? Which of the three remaining are you most excited for?

Continuing this week's theme, we've got a big question: what's your favorite game ever? Yes, ever -- not just on the DS, but all time. That's a tough one, and we'll look the other way (just this once) if you guys can't narrow it down to just done. You little scamps tend to cheat and slip in ties for first place anyway. We expect to hear about several Zelda titles, and perhaps a few Metroids, and hope for a Castlevania or two, but it's the offbeat favorites that are always interesting, so be prepared to explain.

All this week, the DS Fanboy staff is going to take time out to let you guys in on some of our favorite games, so it's only fair that you return the favor. But since we're, y'know, evil, we're going to make it hard for you. Due to some incredibly horrific string of events, you must choose one DS game (and only one), and that is the only DS game you'll have. Forever. Yeah, we know, it's rough ... but sometimes, that's just how things go.So what do you pick? Which one game stands above all the others?
